This idea that we poor is an illusion. 100+m a year just for staying in the prem. It's been well documented that we want to cut back on spending. It doesn't mean we don't have any funds. It could be the case we accessed all the other options and while they're maybe cheaper alternative, that vital premier league experience and leadership qualities that Sakho posses makes him a better package. We definitely know Sakho better than our current defenders. Who's to say that if we signed veltman for instance that he's any better Scott dann or Tomkins.
