The point is one is a professional footballer and the other needs to donate his body to medical science. At least Jonny Williams can keep Connor Wickham company on the treatment table. Jonny has been with us for some 17 years and I wonder if due to his chronic ongoing injury problems, whether he ever completed 17 first class games in any particular season.

Zaha is at least 11 times more important to Palace staying up than Williams. My point is that we shouldn't be paying anyone £110,000 per week to kick a ball. Zaha already has Ron Noades' old mansion with inside swimming pool. He was already extremely well paid. Nobody needs that kind of money. The world has gone mad.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr I like Jonny, he is palace through and through, and had some good times with us in the championship, also looked a fair player for wales in the euros, perhaps he has shown something of getting over his injuries but am quite surprised but happy for him, whether it's money well spent remains to be seen.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr I really like Jonny but am bemused by this. Surely he needs to move on to have any chance of progressing.

PALACE FOR EVER London 08 Jun 17 10.23am | |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr I presume Palace are hoping that Jonny can last injury free for a good length of time and play for the club he's loaned to. Either to sell him or they feel he is good enough to play in the PL, on the bench at first perhaps. I can't keep up with these loaned rules but if we loan him to a club for a season can we call him back in January? if he has stayed injury free & played a good number of matches to include him in our 25 players.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr Could indicate that we are planning on letting a few of the high earning periphery players leave and we know that could leave the squad tad thin, his wages are relatively low. In my opinion there is no chance he'll ever become a regular first teamer whilst we are a premier league club but certainly has the ability to be a squad player... if he can go 2 days without getting injured.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jonny Williams new deal' by kenbarr In this circumstance I'm sure Steve would say he is looking after the clubs finances in extending Jonny's contract by one year as it ran out in 2018. As it ran out in 2018 we would not get a transfer fee for him this time next year.

Johnny Williams, Connor Wickham, Bakary Sako far too injury prone look at Wickham in 3 years less than 30 games played.....Get shot of all 3 and save the wages. I think Wickham and Williams have just been unlucky. They ain't no Jack Wilshire. And Sako I just don't think he's good enough for the Premier league.
