Well Wayne is Welsh No 1 , and those accolades are about the same . Have to admit having zero interest in Wales but Hennessey has, over the last eighteen months, been really poor. Kicking great but no presence for a tall man, poor footwork, clearly a poor communicator, slow to get down for a low ball, questionable handling and only rarely manages anything other than a standard save.

I have never seen a keeper concede a goal as bad as the one one Mandanda conceded against Burnley , unless we count the one Speroni palmed in against Portsmouth that was going wide. You will quote Hennessey against Villa , that is a one off bad mistake, but for technical errors the other two are worse.

Mandanda played 9 games, Hennessey played all the rest.....how many match winning saves did he make? None... Hennessey v Villa a one off mistake? Really? What about all the free kick goals he conceded, were they all one off mistakes? He is a liability, any free kick up to 30 yards out is as good as a penalty to the opposition with him in goal.....we badly need an upgrade or were going to be in the same position next season.

Yes an upgrade would be nice ,I think everyone agrees on that, but how much do you want to spend to get a significantly better keeper? Same position next season ? Well we didn't get relegated and look how much better the team performed with a manager and 4 new players, Hennessey was in that team and had we started the season with that team and a manager we would never have been in any trouble. I will wait and see what Sam comes up with in the summer , I hope he finds us a bargain upgrade.

SM had none in 9. WH made 2.9 saves per game to SM's 2.7. WH conceded 1.6 goals per game to SM's 1.9. Those are the facts. Other than that it's just your opinion. Yes, we could do with a better keeper but so could half the PL, and you can't seriously imply that all our problems this season were down to WH????

On the evidence that Steve was Ligue 1 keeper of the year on multiple occasions and OM's Player of the year plenty of times during his tenure whereas Wayne has been consistently crap for us and has done almost nothing to prove he should be kept. It's unfortunate Mandanda didn't work out but that doesn't mean he is a bad player. Di Maria and Schwienstieger flopped at united, it happens. That's not evidence, it's hearsay. There is no reason if he is supposedly that good, he didn't work out, as you put it. A goalkeeper is the same in any team, very different from an outfield player, who has to adapt to a formation a team plays.

Actually meant position re arguing about Hennessey being rubbish and costing us goals ! not league position.....he only started to look like a keeper when Sakho came in and basically prevented most of the shots getting as far as Wayne!
