Hark! Now hear the Palace sing
The Brighton run away

And we will fight forever more
Because of Boxing Day

Brighton fans sing this same song but the other way round. Seems a proper nawty bust up, both crews running in opposite directions. I bet the police were pleased.

Ok we could just start a list of other things to bait them about?

I'll start:

Lewis Dunk permanently has the face of someone who has been accused of rape

Falmer is a sod to get to

They've got 1 song

This is their first time in the Premier League

Glenn Murray has had one of the worst hair transplants in football history

Seagulls eat out of bins

Their kit looks like pyjamas

Most their fans support two teams

Fatboy Slim has made a "Put Your Hands Up For Brighton" remix which has to be the most cringey thing I have ever heard

Plastic clappers

We were the first to beat them at the Amex

We beat them in the Playoff Semis on our way to the Prem

So when they play Liverpool next season it will be the Bindipper Derby

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I get what you're saying; it's a nuanced difference in that sexual proclivities are not choices. However, paedophilia involves the physical abuse of an unwilling victim whereas homosexuality does not.

Technically, its a victim who is incapable, in law, of giving consent.

Homosexuality is a sexual orientation, paedophilia is a fetish.

Meant to highlight this bit when I said about their game v Liverpool being the Bindipper Derby.

It was meant as a bit of a micky take but thanks for explaining further . That's what I said albeit not so eloquently in my other post. For a group of people who want to be treated just like everyone else why do they have to have a group to set them apart and use said group as a platform to go on and on about how different they are . Little Britain was certainly onto something with the David only gay in the village sketch. If your gay, female , black whatever get on with it stop bloody going on about it all the time

I'm torn on this issue, because in no other walk of life would I even consider this kind of thing, its not reasonable or grown up at all.

But football is really just a form of pantomime for adults, in which they largely become adolescent - and a catharisis of verbal abuse.

I'd never call someone a bender anywhere else, but then I'd probably never call someone a f**king c*nt either.

I think its kind of ok, and part of the stupidity that is football fandom: provided you're not really serious. What concerns me, is that I don't think a lot of people who chalk something up as 'harmless banter' actually consider that their actions can and do hurt people.

I don't know why Brighton get so worked up about to be honest.

Yes, but I'd argue that they are both inclinations that a person would find it difficult to fight. The difference is that one is legal and one isn't and therefore the person with the legal sexual tastes should never have to fight their desires. I mean I can make this case with any legal and illegal sexual preferences.

Well the law is there to protect the vulnerable from predators. You can debate all day long where the line is drawn - it's very different around the world - but it's a line that society typically chooses to draw for good reason.

In a way, who we prefer to f***, is all "fetish".

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

I would. About 5 times on average on my 2 mile drive to work. Nothing wrong with it, IMHO.

It's when you put a minority status in the middle that it's problem.
