Are you sure? Paid that much in a charity? If that's true that is appalling. I know hypocrisy and the left can almost be synonyms sometimes but I would have thought there would be some limit to 'champagne socialism'. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Apr 2017 3.00pm) To be fair it is International Resucue. Thunderbirds are Go

From a union 'source ' Just heard from a very good source, who has spoken to the original investigation team, that the DPP will shortly announce prosecutions of up to 24 Tory MPs over the election expenses scandal. May will have known about this. So the sudden call for a General Election breaking all her promises - she's scared of losing her majority when up to 24 Tory MPs are disqualified. She had to make the announcement before the DPP's - so that explains the rush. Sounds feasible. Story being covered heavily by c4 news tonight. I reckon there's something in it.

Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Apr 2017 3.00pm) I'm not sure its even champagne socialism, it seems much more cut throat capitalism to me, I don't know who comes off worse, them for taking that much or the charity for paying it. Charity is largely a scam it seems anyway, where in a lot of rather well off and well incomed people seem to earn rather staggering sums of money for their 'patronage'.

Did you hear May complaining that Labour would vote against a deal. This wasn't a given. Also, was she saying the deal should not come under parliamentary scrutiny. Europhile Tory MPs will have an interesting campaign. Also be interested to see if the 27 mps whose electoral win is being investigated by the PCC stand. I personally think they shouldn't...

I don't get the reason for the election being brexit at all. The brexit has progressed to the EU there is no further point in campaigning for or against brexit here. Mrs May or Corbyn as PM will not make any difference to the EU.
