We will beat Arsenal 1-0 and then we need 6 more points which should come from Burnley , Leceister or Hull at Home. However i still think we will get at least a point out of Man U !

Three wins out of eight should be doable. Pity about tonight's result because I thought we would scramble over the finishing line to get a draw ... but it only proves that nothing can be taken for granted. That 18th spot will be unclaimed for a few weeks yet but I'd like to reserve it for West Ham! Yes bloody pleez......That great big stadium with championship football....

My feelings are exactly the same as they were pre Chelsea. Prior to Chelsea I could only see us getting a max of 9 points. Wins against Leicester, Burnley & Hull. Chelsea was a bonus 3 points, meaning if we win the 3 games we should win, we'll go to 40 points which will be enough. If we don't win those 3 games then we really don't deserve to stay up.

I am all for being cautious etc but have we not got momentum too with a 4 game winning run? Let's not forget we have one more point and a game in hand over Hull too. Hull have just beaten the Spammers and Boro at home but previously were spanked 4-0 by Everton. Let's see how they get on at Citeh and Stoke away next.

Upon further reflection, and I admit that the following is hardly rocket science but just to reinforce importance,,, that Hull and Swansea home games will be particularly important with easier run-in compared to Palace. Our key will be to grind out valuable draws (if not wins if we can catch on the break) against the top teams and hope that Selhurst home games absolutely turn up the volume so as to be a twelfth player when it matters. What encourages me is that despite run-in of games, we're not being fancied for third team down behind a more than now likely Sunderland & Middlesborough departure to The Championship. We just must take those chances in front of goal. To hit the goalposts twice last night is so frustrating...

I was really peed off last night at the final whistle but when I realised many of us had thought we would lose anyway I felt a little bit better. We can still get enough points to stay up and the Gunners match is a good start to get 3 points on the board. They have had some real s***e matches of late and if we dig our heels in on Monday and give it our all we can do it.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Cabaye getting injured is a big loss and McArthur isnt match fit yet, and Kelly is probably 4th choice at CB. So we are running out of players fast. A draw against Arsenal would be a great result. Maybe we have more chance of a win against Leicester who have pulled their season around, and may rest key players given their CL involvement. I fancy a win against Burnley, and Hull, and that gives us the nine or ten points we need?

With our injury woes I cannot see us surviving. We have had our good run but alas that is now over and I cannot see how we can avoid the drop.

As a glass half full kinda guy, McArthur is nearing a return, and he could make a great difference and Flamini hasnt suddenly become a bad player but we do need Tomkins to return soon. Kelly is proving a decent CB replacement, and hopefully Van Annholt will be back soon too. Told you I'm an optimist!

Things are looking grim now. Realistically I can only see us winning one game for the rest of the season with maybe another point or two on top. That will be 35 or 36 which will not be enough. Hrolf I share the general thrust of your sentiments.

McArthur could take a couple of games to get up to speed, Flamini is a shadow of the player he was and Kelly hasn't become an effective PL player overnight. I'm afraid the injuries are going to be our downfall and I am deeply saddened by it all.
