A good half so far Positive: the team look confident in possession and have a clear game plan to get the ball wide quick. Negatives: not much but Townsend and Puncheon are just taking too long to distribute the ball, which is the opposite of the rest of the team.

Good half. Puncheon and Joel Ward have been pretty dreadful. Sakho has been immense.

Benteke booked for being fouled. I wonder if the ref took into account the free kick given against him a minute or so earlier in their penalty area, also for being fouled.

Townsend has not been as effective today. I'd put Schlupp on against Elbows Dawson and move Zaha to the right so he can get some crosses in. Other than that a good half despite the lack of many real chances.

Punch can not play on the wing anymore he can't even do a good job in the middle. Wilf can use both feet so I do not see what the problem is plus he works better with Van then he does Ward.

He is truly, truly Championship standard and we desperately need an upgrade on him ASAP. Put Tomkins out there and Dann in the middle.

Wilf is twice as effective on the right. And we're negating his impact to accommodate an average Townsend. That's the problem.

Hopefully a bit of magic from someone in the second half and every other result to stay the same wouldn't be a bad thing! Ref is letting hard fouls go and pinging some soft contact. That leads to frustration and a card for dissent. Not excusing Benteke- he's a grown up and a professional so he should be capable of controlling himself - but the ref is testing everyone's patience.
