None. Stop being obtuse. We need to stay in the prem. End of. If you think settling for second best is acceptable then you have a hard life ahead. Ever considered anti depressants?... only joking. But really I'm sure the OP knows really that it is more beneficial to stay in the prem however is looking for a positive. Why don't you try looking for the positives in every day life and maybe you'll have a less hard life ahead?

So you miss the championship? Originally posted by Mstrobez
A part of me always missed the championship, whilst most sane people will always want to stay in the premier league there is something special of not always having the world watching. The main thing is the exclusivity of going to a game, knowing that the majority of the time it's the only way to have an extended view of the match - always thought it made a game at Selhurst a special experience. Clutching at straws a bit, but it looks like we're going back so we may as well find some positives out of the situation

I really think some people are reading into the OP post too much. The best case scenario is Palace stay up of course. But what's wrong with looking for positives if we do go down? Sounds like nonsense hippy s*** but in a world full of issues it's embarrassing watching grown men get so passionate over the premier league. Palace in my short time of supporting (24 years old) have never really been a premier league team but have mostly been able to entertain me come a Saturday (apart from this recent run), so lighten the f*** up people! Stay up or go down the world will go on, Palace will remain Palace!

If by chance Sam fails in his mission to keep us up at all costs, provided he stays with us,think we would have the platform to do a Newcastle and come straight back up,exchanging places with Brighton who surely go straight back down.

Maybe we will be looking for a new manager IF (God forbid) we are relegated.Just got this feeling that Allardyce won't be with us if we slip through that dreaded relegation 'Trapdoor'.

Selling all our best players, getting s***ter ones in, missing out on big pay days, languishing in that league. Sorry but I can see f**k all positives.

Explain exactly what this "platform" consists of? There will be serious problems at board-level, two-thirds of whom are in it for a profit and, unlike the benevolent owners of the past, or even the original four, won't throw good money after bad. Every half-decent player will be out of there faster than wind out of a duck's arse. I'd be surprised if Sam were to stay if we go down; I think that we might just be a bridge too far for him. We've doing nothing to improve our infrastructure in four years and are still at League One-level. Our 'support' halves when we drop out of the PL. The idea that we could "do a Newcastle" is pure fantasy; we aren't even a Norwich or a Reading.

Of course I don't want to go down but just like everything in life there are good and bad even when the bad massively outweighs the good. People think because they keep saying "we'll be alright" we actually will be. I cannot at this moment in time see 3 teams that will be worse off than us come the end of the season, but I'm praying that will change. Jesus Christ

Problem is the point of being a championship team is to win promotion to the premiership. The goal must be to stay up. We are fortunate that results went our way at the weekend. I like the championship but the goal there is to get to where we are now
