I am aware only PVA was in the team today, but mostly anonymous.
If Delaney cant play twice a week, why play 3 at the back. New players should of invigorated the squad, look how Sunderland played with 2 cheap Everton players and a free Lescott.
The look on Steves face in the directors box has aged about 10 years, he looks drawn and ill, bit like the rest of us witnessing today.

Lesscott you can't count. Came on in the 2nd half, game over when we had 3 chances we could've scored. W***er at Villa the way he acted online when they were getting relegated.

since the yanks got involved nothing has gone right for us why is this has anybody got a answer to that, in theory this the best team we have ever had or is it that we just need a striker who can control the ball and not mess up penalties we would have an extra 4 points and a goalie who seems like he is thinking about some thing else most of the time in some kind of day dream we would have an extra gods knows how many points more, well our first team goalie we be back soon and 3 new players and then we can all go from a state of hopeless dispare to to state of massive over confidence as per the palace way

This is going to sound really harsh but what the fvck has he built up since promotion? 5 years ago nearly and £650million later. What?

Bugger all, that's what.

Yeah, I know we have a team full of internationals but so what?

Kermit, you keep going on about this as if we could've achieved all modernising and kept the club in the prem all at once. How many clubs do that in 4/5 years?

The truth is they mainly modernise in the 2nd tier and then at some point get promotion. That was never an option Doing one or the other is more realistic, although not having more scouts is amateur as that will directly affect whether you're in the league.

And not to mention the planning restrictions to actually rebuild Selhurst. Then training grounds and land is not that readily available in SE or CR or BR postcodes. Being in Devon you may not notice.

In all likelihood if we do get relegated we will have profit in the bank. We made profit of £10mil in year 1, break even year 2, profit in year 3. I can't remember the exact figures but the prudence of Parish and FFP will mean that we'll start there with healthy finances, parachute payments and saleable asssets for players. They're just a gutless and characterless bunch all piled together.

And no teams do not get fleeced as much these days for their players when they're relegated. And the big plus is most of the rubbish is out of contract in June so it's mainly players tempting promoted clubs or mid-lower prem clubs.

Things are bad football wise but I wouldn't worry or get as angry as you are regarding CPFC finances. There are 3 main things we need done:

Selhurst - Can't. Council and Sainsburys wanting whatever in their modernising which they're doing in some stores these days whilst Tesco aren't.

Training Ground - This is the London suburbs, Stoke. But I agree if we're relegated for any length of time it's an edge over the competition. Maybe another reason why it hasn't been hurried more. It doesn't pay dividends for a few years and only if in the 2nd tier for a few years.

Scouting - Poor really. Always relying on the manager's knowledge. Pardew? Well all he knew of away from MOTD was Souare who was no doubt being scouted by Mr Carr at Newcastle. Milovjevic? Allardyce tried to sign him before. Rincon. An amateur attempt and no 2nd bid. Ends up being signed for bl00dy Juventus. Best team in Italy. Dear oh dear.

Getting the yanks involved I would say has been SP's only 'mistake'. From precisely that moment it's all gone tits up.

But did he have any choice? To continue as we were would have caught up with us eventually. To sustain a run in the PL you have to have investment. SP didn't have the funds to sustain progression. So the investment shouldn't have been about marquee signings. They don't belong at Selhurst and never will. We're about players who want to make a name for themselves, not players who already have a name. Only one reson these players would come would be for money alone. None of them would bring hunger, heart, grit and determination. Players like Jedinak all had that and were proud to play for CPFC. How could Benteke have that when he's been demoted from Liverpool to Palace? Money has been invested in the wrong kind of players. Like Allardyce being in charge, I suspect Parish had very little to do with it. We are being run by Americans and SP is just the voice for them.

It also produces fear. We saw that today.

Fear is the god damn hillsborough game!! Thread bare squad. Club on the brink. One player of total quality Ambrose and he stepped up. No fear at home, mid season, in the 4th year of prem experience, so called best squad ever.

Not playing for min £25/30,000 up to £100,000 a week. 3/4 year contract. And against a random bunch of average players. (kone Defoe excluded they pretty good!)

Worst 45 minutes for a long long long time. can't believe after 3 full years in the prem we got the same players in the squad that were barely good enough in our first season back. And they starters.

This new Serbian guy better be like Kante!! Sahko new Maldini.

Only good thing was it's over and I enjoyed watching Remy

For years this club lacked ambition, mainly going back to Noades, forget Goldberg, then Jordan. That is why we were a yo yo club with no investment in the infrastructure too speak of.
Steves problem, we didn't have the money to move onto the next level, all taken up in transfers, wages and running costs.
We needed investment to build the club up, it may be against your principals, but that is football business now.
If he just did nothing, he would be accused of lack of ambition, he does something then accused of selling out.
You cant please fickle fans like you, who always keen to find fault.

We all know the wonders Parish and CPFC2010 have done for this club, but I have to point out. If we go down this year i'd say the brunt of the blame lies with SP.

If we do go down I hope Parish will finally realize he is totally inept at running transfer windows and managerial affairs. If he comes to that realization perhaps he can rectify it by giving some of his power away. We can only speculate as the damage the brief stint of FDB did to the players. Its easier to figure out the harm that is done when we dont have proper squad depth in vital areas.

Benteke would have been benched ages ago if we had proper cover.

Hodgson clearly wants another keeper and Parish signs one...sounds good except its 6 months too late.

We have been unlucky with injuries but that doesnt tell the whole story. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of joined up thinking is incredible.

Am I correct in saying we still dont have a 25 man squad?

Still got the blinkers on, Alan.

In your world Hennessey is a top class goalie and a perfect fit for us. Ever listen to FYP or HOL radio pods? Every single member of each team of people who go on those shows disagrees with you, every single pod, without exception. Ex Palace GK John Burridge thinks Hennessey is not the answer for us. Everyone I know, every Palace fan I ever talk to, is not happy with Hennessey.

But they all must be wrong and you are right, Alan.

Alan can you reply to a post without mentioning a comparison to a top six side, like Man City?

You are not so hot in the comparison game I think;

You once compared Peter Cech and Hennessey.

Comparing Man City's squad depth to ours is very similar to comparing Hennessey and Cech.

I see you are from Dunstable. I used to live in Tebworth as a nipper. You must have gone dizzy from driving around all of those roundabouts in Milton Keynes, Alan, and maybe its affecting your comparison making ability.

If you want to compare a team with worse depth at goalie and striker, you might need to trawl the Sunday leagues.
