Again though, the Wilshere deal is a great example of hindsight. Wilshire was in exactly the same situation as Remy. Good player, couldn't stay fit, needed games. With slightly different luck, we could easily be in a situation now where Remy was fit from the start and had banged in 10 goals alongside Benteke's 10 and we're 12 points better off right now, while Wilshere could have been the one who got injured again and only played three times for Bournemouth. It hasn't worked out like that, but if our wage bill demanded that we could effectively only afford to sign one of them I think it was a pretty fair shout to go with Remy when we were very short of strikers.

Around the ground we're now compliant with Premier League regulations, the coroporate areas have been re-vamped, the food outlets (in the Holmesdale at least) are much better, the ticketing card system is an improvement, I think the Glaziers/reception area/restaurants in the main stand have been worked on? The pitch is now miles better than it ever was before and has undersoil heating, and you can get a nice blonde ale in the red n blue bar. Edited by Username (24 Jan 2017 3.51pm)

I seem to recall that Pardew slagged off the yanks a couple of weeks before getting fired inferring that Parish DEFENDED him in front of the yanks who wanted to fire him because, in Pardew's world, they didnt know anything about football. How that has turned around into the Yanks actually meaning Parish was slower in firing AP is quite the baffling switch from reality.

Did any other Palace manager in the history of the world get that money to spend, even with inflation? He was massively backed....fact. He was also backed to sell whoever the hell he wanted to. Oh and he was backed to ruin some careers also like Scotty Dann who was playing well enough to be in with an England shout before AP took over.

The modern game this is what the sports science and fitness coaches are for they use data to see players strengths and weakness but the manager needs to give these staff outline on the type of football he will be playing and the pace so they can work on the type of fitness needed. AP refused to listen to doctors advice this is not good next we have only just hired a sports science bloke so AP didn't have a clue AP appeared like a control freak to me and Parish lack of knowledge/experience allowed it. I respect what Parish has done but he needs to step a side he is becoming more and more like Jordan he should be a background guy or he could be the media guy but also needs to bring in people that know what they are doing every year it's a mess when it comes to transfers plus not sure he knows what he is spending money on when it cmes to ground/training ground stuff. Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

We all make mistakes. For most of us, out of the public eye, and not subject to public criticism. Undoubtedly there was a serious fck-up in giving Super Al some extended slack. But that was mostly due to a better manager not being available at the time. We need to splash the cash, unfortunately. But if we don't , we're doomed.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

You have ironically slated me for not accepting other people's views and in the same breath have said I talk a load of cr&p when trying to justify my own, thus you are not accepting of mine. That is irony thick enough to cut a slice of and have with some tea. Anyway, this is what this forum is intended for, dissenting opinions. I genuinely hope I am proved wrong but I just see SP making the same mistakes over and over again and it might be indicative of a strategic flaw in how he goes about things. I love this club and this is why I cannot blindly follow and agree with anything anyone who is associated with the club does. Some fans see it in the exact opposite direction and they support whatever decisions are made 100%, I am not one of them.

Yes i think he did let the Pardew saga drag on a little longer than he should of. We all live and learn. We now have Sam now lets see what happens, In the short time he has been here yo can see the improvement in defence. From my point of view it was a much improved performance on Saturday, And we should possibly of got something out of the game, The squad we have are good enough for the Premier if the fitness and confidence is sorted out, you don't become a bad player over night. These threads are now becoming boring I beg to differ: Folk on these boards have been screaming for a quality LB for effing years! Tight-fisted and dithery Parish finally got us Fryers from the bargain basement, then Souare when he finally had to. We've ALWAYS needed a top LB. It's been f@cking our line-ups around for years. He p1ssed off Pulis on his tight-fistedness and now he doing it again. F@ck SAMBA! My prediction is he'll be a waste of space and money. Clubs can ask for silly money for the players we need in this window because that's the law of supply and demand. Parish is to blame for that for not buying what we needed in the summer and not sacking that prize tw@t Pardew who wrecked our ability to defend. This is BOLLOCKS!
