Obviously we need to strengthen our defence in the transfer window we only have 2 of our first choice back 4 fit.I am not a massive Pardew supporter but we are so close to having a very decent side in the last window we addressed the attacking situation and are now scoring for fun.Yes there is work to be done but surly chopping and changing managers every couple of seasons will not help us build a decent all round side.Pape's injury has hit us hard this season if we can replace him in Jan, get another right back and another center back we should shoot up the table.I am frankly stunned by the attitude of some "fans" on here do you really expect us to win every game? This season we have never really been out of any game, Yes we have made some silly mistakes and lost a few games we perhaps should have won. This is the premier league there are no easy games all teams have the ability to beat any team in the league.we are doing ok for a small club with , compared to other teams a low budget. We still have work to do but are moving in the right direction.

I take it you watched today's game ? We were defending with a back 10 for most of the game, with just Benteke anywhere near the half way line. Still didn't have a clue.

"Brighton are talking about how they're coming for us. And it's like, we've been waiting in the Premier League for you for ages." Wilfried Zaha, 2017.

The worry is that we will likely only have 16 points after the Arsenal game - given how we are playing now.
That means 16 points after 19 games and still with all of the top teams to play again.
We are just not up to it right now - despite being able to score goals.
I really do think we stand a chance of being relegated with AP in charge.
Knowing Palace though we will go and beat Man Utd on Wednesday!

Only Swansea and Hull have let in more goals than us this season and after next Saturday we may well have the worst defensive defence record in the Prem.
Everything can change of course but right now I reckon that 38 points is the best we can hope for given current form - and even that is not a certainty!
We are in deep doo doo with no plan as to how to fix it!

Pardews fault, all the players should know the game plan for whatever team we play and stick to it.

The defence is certainly fragile. But we've got some fight and spirit. We may be 1 down 2 down with a few minutes left but I'm starting to expect us to score.

Unfortunately we could be 2 up in injury time and I wouldn't be confident of winning !! No good for the ticker !! I'm longing for two boring 0-0s against United and Chelsea !!

No such thing as an easy game in the Premiership, especially away. A draw is not a bad result.

The cheating for the first goal was completely unjust and would completely knock the stuffing out of you if you had been on top before the incident. Benteke had a clear pen turned away second half, it could have been a comfortable win if the ref got the decisions right.

Again, it was individual mistakes that cost us our goals. There is so only so much Pardew can do from the sideline, he's not the one missing tackles. For those criticising the decision to bring on Cabaye, the stream I watched it on, the commentator said that McArthur had picked up a knock, so perhaps he was forced into this.

Two games unbeaten, stopped the rot. Momentum building going into a game against an off for Man Utd with a day's less rest. Points are there to be won.

Well according to Pardew it was the refs fault today. I think the issue is the excuses rarely have to be made as to why we've won. If you actually think we played well against Southampton then fair enough. We still have the worst record in English football in 2016 and it's December. Not sure what people are missing. Not sure why that stat is irrelevant it's COMPLETELY relevant.

Crystal Palace have the worst record in English football in 2016. Its just utter delusion now

Four penalty decision, three called incorrectly in favour of the home team. Pretty sure that means the ref had a huge say in the result.
Not ignoring the stat, its why i want him gone, just sick of the pathetic witch hunt about his pre/after match comments to try and justify sacking him. Largely these pressers are full of tired old clichés and when a pertinent point is made there's a huge cry of "EXCUSES" from the out brigade. It really isn't an excuse to point out how poorly the ref played in favour of the home side.
Remember after the first one Cheat should of walked and after the trip on Benteke they went straight down the other end and scored, major turning points I'm sure you'd agree?
Like i said, i want him gone, but on yesterdays game, he didnt get a lot of help from a very poor reffing performance

I had no faith in the team holding on, no. Not because of Pardew though, directly.
Think because of AP's front foot philosophy costing us so many points during 2016 the confidence out on the pitch is shot. They've forgotten how to win. They fight back so many times that they clearly are playing for him, but mentally this team, not just defence are shot.
I've always said it, AP rarely goes out to not lose and therefore these non winning streaks just go on and on and that slowly erodes the mental strength of the group.
For the next four games he has to go Pulis style in my opinion, but I know he won't and we'll probably have glorious failures in the matches vs the big guns and contrive a way to throw it away against Watford.
In some ways AP is like many on here, he goes out expecting to beat teams because, "It's just ( insert name here)" and we should beat them. It's that footballing arrogance/attitude that is costing us IMO and many fans act the same way.

The worrying thing for me is that despite Hull being the lowest scorers on the division, everyone they went forward they looked like scoring. As well as the 3 they scored, they missed 2 of 3 very good chances. Puncheon was also stupid enough to get himself booked and suspended for Wednesday , so I'm really concerned we're in for a hammering against utd.

The straw clutch gang going for the penalties we weren't awarded to mask the fact that

a) we can't defend.
b) we can't hold onto a lead for longer than 3 minutes.

Looking forward to any reasons over the next few games to excuse us winning one in 10 or about 7 in 12 months. You couldn't make this sh1t up. If he wasn't from the 1990 side and pally with Parish and a Brighty we'd be building some consistency with someone more capable.

but it was man utd and Chelsea, you can't expect us to beat them. All you pardew out supporters are dillusional if you think we should be beating teams like that. We'll definately beat Watford.

Feel free to copy and paste next week.
