I wonder if it was a "gentleman's agreement" during the international break that Pardew had three opportunities to turn it around? We had two games against teams below us and today's game where a hard fought draw might have been possible. (I think Southampton are probably two goals better than us!)

For me, the nature of last week's defeat and our current form make Pardew's position untenable. I can't understand why he was given further time unless he is actually going to walk or has agreed to reduce his demands for compensation?

Not really. I don't pay my money to watch us lose. We also lost last week and don't seem to have moved any further forward for the experience

Every time you pay your money, you take the risk that you'll watch us lose. This whole subject is about whether or not a loss today is desirable rather than desired. If you can see the distinction.

The Independent report that the Palace hierarchy have agreed to give Pardew the one game today to turn things around against Southampton.
We lose ,he goes and Big Sam will take over.

Much pressure on Pards, but he has been given acres of time to get us winning ,failed to do so in a results driven business. Not all his fault I know and Millen must take his share of the blame also and be relieved of his responsibilities, also.

I am reliably informed that similar sentiments have been expressed in the 'Telegraph'.

But as I have said "Don't believe all you read in the press".

Obviously I hope we play well and win. That won't mean Pardew is suddenly safe though, look at him over a season and over a year and six wins in 2016 isn't really much less s***e than five. Add in the deterioration in the performances of quite a few players whom he's presumably supposed to be developing and you would think the writing's on the wall regardless of an individual result.

And I'm afraid that if he now wins six on the trot we'll always be wondering when the next frefall in coming and hoping wd've got 40 points in the bag when it does.

I hope the crowd is 110% behind Pardew and the team today. And that we win. And that AP goes on a long winning streak. He seems to have eaten a lot of humble pie this week accepting that senior players and the board are on his back - he has accepted there is a problem and is hopefully adapting his tactics accordingly. We could do without the disruption of a new manager, we are capable of playing brilliantly under AP.

Look at the press conference on the Palace web site. He definitely accepts that senior players have given him advice. And that he must produce results. A very different tone to the normal super confident one.

Pardew listened to advice, adjusted the team,re-jigged back four brought Damo back, changed set-piece marking duties. Shows he is capable of change. Let's see what happens next. COYP.
