When you defend like this it doesn't matter if your goalkeeper is Neuer.

When you're in a hole it's best to stop digging. No one, but no one, is convinced by this faux loyalty nonsense; it doesn't make you look like a better fan, it makes you look like a bit of a twit.

You haven't really bothered have you? Only in assessing my own character based on my assessment. So I'll take your calling me a twit with a pinch of salt, assuming that you're just a little upset (as we all are).

Next week everyone wants a win, but it is definitely a 'must not lose' game, seven is unthinkable. If AP is still in charge I believe the atmosphere will be toxic and if that transmits to the players it is never a good thing. Confidence is low in the team and in the crowd and every deadball around our box will be an adventure. New manager would help negate these feelings I think?

If he is still in charge for that game, and if it does become 7, the fans will sack him at 17:00 and the board by 18:00. The fans sacked Warnock at home to Southampton once the patience had worn thin, I can see Pardew getting the same.

What sums it up for me is that he can get the players psyched up for the big games (City etc) but not for must win games like today. Apart from Zaha's first, all of our goals were kind of fortunate. He's a Champagne Charlie who's had enough chances to be decent, but continues to fail. Get rid please.

Your continued defence of the indefensible is either because you're a fool or that you think being contrary in the face of the obvious somehow makes you either a superior supporter or a big man. I can assure you that it does neither, it just makes you seem ridiculous, but please do carry on if you want to, it's up to you if you wish to appear vacuous. You'll be talking to yourself though, because I'm already bored and won't be listening.

Surely there's no debate anymore ? I think he would have got the extra games had we lost 2-1, but that was just a disgrace. And when they scored, I laughed, because it was so inevitable. Going forward is not an issue, but the "clean sheets are not my priority" mentality is clearly a front for the inability to organise a defence. It has been the same for a year now, all of us who are merely fans can see the problem but the manager getting millions a year is oblivious to it.

We may be seen as a bit of a joke if we get Fat Sam in but my god he can't do much worse.

Oh hardly. It's balanced and addressing both sides of the argument. 75% of the out brigade post alone based on the current run and the 2016 record stats. No other stats or factors come into the argument. It's vitriol, neolithic and exposes how fickle and narrow minded football fans (and people in general) can be. If he goes I'm looking forward to the replacement who will see us a comfortably finishing top half playing possession based football with goals and getting to more finals each season.

What other factors are there? That he scored the winner in the 1990 semi-final? We have the worst record in the country in 2016. If it hadn't been for the Cup Final and the fact that he's an ex-player, he'd have been sacked in May (and should have been).

If he's still in place next Saturday, then he will be booed when we come out, that will affect the players and we'll lose again. He has to go now.

Every single manager in all four divisions would have been sacked with a record like Pardews so if we value our Premier League status we need to get rid now. He does not seem to have any influence on the players whatsoever, they just seem to be doing their own thing without any organisation at all and we look a shambles

Having been going to Palace for a shade under 40 years I have supported every manager, except the snakes, like Steve Bruce and I'm afraid Dougie, and generally most players, even the bad ones, but there comes a time when its time to go. Steve Coppell, Alan Smith, Peter Taylor, are prime examples. I don't know how AP can seriously be kept on. If we are relegated it will be devastating for the club. Don't give me all this " oh I miss playing Huddersfield away and Port vale" crap. Been there done it in spades and don't miss it.
If the club can pay £25m for Benteke they can invest in a good manager. Quite honestly anyone. Its bizarre that I even would like the Newcastle manager...

But they are 'the happiest group of players he's ever managed.'

That and the not valuing clean sheets and being good entertainment tells us all we need to hear.

This is not the theatre or a circus. If you can't deliver in a results business you have to go, with a golden handshake of millions in cases like this.

It's all very well being balanced, but I think the majority of people have been incredibly patient. Yes we got to a cup final last season, but it was another game where we couldn't hold on to a lead. Perhaps if the defence was less shambolic we could have won that game.

It's not fickle to suggest that a manager who is failing to manage should be replaced.
