Two points above us.

Even Hull are winning today and if they beat Southampton will be just 1 point behind us,as we continue our downward spiral.
Don't think SP and the yanks will leave AP in charge if we don't get wins against Swansea or indeed,Hull.Even Sunderland are beginning to show some form.

Hull did win - we are now just one point off the relegation zone and will probably fall unto it if we don't get something against Man City.

"No need to panic yet"? Pardew out, drop Mandanda. Your words, or is it my glasses not focusing properly?

Its your glasses. other people said Pardew out i was just replying. I dont think mandanda has shown anything better than we already have and nowhere near who we could have got, and no, i'm not panicking yet.

We must be patient,Super Al has only been in charge for some 22 months to change our style and has recently proclaimed that this season will be transitional.
In reality,do not think that time is on his side this season, unlike the luxury of a significant points cushion as we had when our wheels fell off last season after the away win at Stoke.
Desperate times require desperate measures and Fat Sam is awaiting our call to keep us up and halt the slide to the Championship.

We need someone who can keep the forward play developing the way it has been but bolt the door at the back. Fat Sam could do the latter but IMHO at the expense of the former. We may have to be patient; we can't afford to f*** this up but we also can't afford to give away three goals a game.

I keep seeing this argument on here and can't believe that people genuinely believe that last season's deterioration is irrelevant to our current struggles.

The points may reset in the summer but there are plenty of examples of runs of form continuing over the break to show that consecutive seasons aren't completely seperate entities.

Leicester, for example, won 7 of their final 9 games in 2014/15 to stay up. They continued that form into the following season and won the league.

Our fortunes when Pardew took over at the start of 2015 actually mirrored that of Leicester. He won 10/18 games to keep us up easily. Also like Leicester, we carried the form over the summer and won 9 of the first 17 games in 15/16 to leave us in the mix for the Champions League at Christmas.

However, whereas Leicester continued their good form until the end of the season, we didn't. As of January 2016, Pardew won 2/18 games and we eventually finished 5 points clear of relegation.

Again, our form continued after the summer and we have won 3/11 games so far this season, likely to become 3/12 after Man City.

The point of all this is that, in my opinion, anyone who discounts the correlation between our form at the end of last year and how we have done and will do this season is either naive or doing so deliberately to suit their own argument.

You quote Leicester as your example, they won the league last year, but have only won the same amount of games us this season.
So by a lot of peoples reasoning on here, their fans should be demanding Ranieri gets the sack.

IMO Pardew's biggest failing is the lack of a Pulis Jnr as his number 2.
The team right now is reminiscent of Ollie's. Playing some decent stuff, but being punished for silly errors and getting no luck. Now the harder you try the luckier you get and that is the problem with this team, they lack focus, concentration and intensity, not consciously, but in a subconscious way.
They start games in a slightly arrogant, we're good kind of way and are very slap dash. Once we go a goal ( or 2) down it's when we see the real team, as if they've now switched on and it's time for work. No amount of tactical work can compensate for a slack mental attitude. To me it's all too friendly and with no Jedi now, there's no one to put the fear of God into anyone making silly slack mistakes.
Under Ollie and Millen we had two nice guys, Pulis came in and we had the right balance of good and evil, Warnock was a basket case and now we are stuck with good Cop, good Cop again. It worked for a while as we still had Jedi, but now we are suffering again. I really believe a hard nosed defensive coach is needed to put the mental attitude right again, to make people afraid of making mistakes.
Pardew doesn't have a backroom staff that follow him from job to job, so he has no one he trusts to give him another perspective or chew the players out when it's not acceptable. The mental side of our game is gone and he has to find somebody to bring it back. If he doesn't want to, then we have to make a change.

West Brom beating Leicester against us they ripped us apart but they have created very little against a well organised defence. Thats how we should have played against them

Just when I thought it couldn't get much worse this weekend, now hear that WBA are winning at Leicester and we slip just above the bottom 3,as they leapfrog us.
Believe even SP and a very supportive board's patience will be tested to the full over the coming weeks.

..yep that's it sack, sack, sack! and Leicester should sack their manager because it was Ranieri who caused Drinkwater to funk it and give west Brom the opportunity to score the winner!

..these so called fans of ours are now happier if we lose so that it justifies their treachery of Palace.

OK lets all sit on our hands while we slip lower and lower, and then when its to late to change anything say well we should have changed him earlier,If we dont get at least 7 points from the next 4 games,Taxi for Pardew!!
