Reported in Todays Guardian that we have made enquiries over Flamini and could add him to our 25 man squad as he is a free agent as we only named 24 so have a free slot. Palace also made last ditch attempts to sign Dale Stephens from the Weed and Johnjo Shelvey from N'Castle

If we do get Flamini then I shall be content with our transfer business as a creative midfielder is still our desperate need if we are to make use of Remy & Benteke. Those who believe that slinging high balls to Benteke will solve our scoring problems are deluded. OK for corners but balls along the ground from a probling midfielder will make the difference. If we don't get him then our only hope is to use the

I don't think Campbell or Appiah would have been in squad if we had brought in players. However as we only had 24 senior professionals all had to be named in 25, if we had more than 25 then only 25 can be in EPL squad. Remember Marange, Dobbie and Garvan in 2013

What should be remembered about Flamini is that he has filled-in at both right-back and left-back, in fact I recall him being played at left-back for Arsenal .Certainly a natural leader who will put his foot in when necessary. Don't know if this has been mentioned but I seem to remember Flamini playing left back for Arsenal during his first spell with them. Could add cover for that position too. Edited by alffy (03 Sep 2016 6.16pm)
