Yes, Warnock has always talked a lot of BS hasn't he? That piece of 'inside information' merely serves to confirm that. Its obvious Palace are desperate to sign a DM (good news). No idea who they are finally going to choose to make a serious bid for. Looks like they are losing ground to Newcastle on McCarthy. Not bothered about this especially as long as a good DM materialises from somewhere! If its true the Russian transfer only opens today (?) then maybe we'll go back to M'Vila, who is probably Sam's first choice?

He's the only player who I can see making a substantial difference this window. Would be a fantastic signing if we get it done
Dont let Cabaye go |

Instead of engaging in a bidding war with Newcastle, Palace should just get Collback. He'd be behind Shelvey, McCarthy and Hayden in the pecking order for the central midfield. Newcastle got him for free in 2014, so they'd let him go rather easy. We all remember Jack Collback, don't we? He was a fast box-to-box, even made it to the national team. He was very appreciated 2-3 years ago. He's still only 27, hasn't lost his pace. He doesn't belong in the Championship (and as a backup!!). In my humble opinion, he's even better than McCarthy

I would rather McCarthy than Colback. I thought we were linked with a £25m deal for him in the summer, so setting aside the affordability issue, anything around £15-£20m should be a good deal. Of course, it doesn't seem that we can afford this deal anyway, so it is all rather moot.
