With only 2 fit first team strikers I imagine Pardew didn't want to risk CW getting injured when the game was done and dusted (CB much less injury prone and still getting up to full match fitness so good to keep him on), plus we only had 2 subs available after JT injury at half time.

Why is CW often drifting around out on the wing and taking throw-ins, in the final third of the pitch? Shouldn't he be in the middle of the pitch when we are crossing? His throw ins are massive. Like taking a corner.

Googled fixtures in the weeks before Pardew joined and had Jan transfer window. Starters included players like I loved some of the above players but to suggest names such as Mandanda, Tomkins, Souare, Cabaye, Townsend, Remy and Benteke are not an upgrade on the above is garbage.

Absolutely spot on. It is incredible how people can suddenly forget things like that!!!! We have more quality now than i can ever remember

That post had all the trappings of a troll. Perhaps best not to bite.

The less said about that utter buffoon "Woy" the better. Not many players are physically able to throw it as far or with the trajectory that CW can so I understand why you'd get him to take the odd long throw when you have one near the opposition's box.

I think Wickham is an important part of the squad, but only the squad, not as a starter. We need two players for every position and we now have two target men in Benteke and Wickham. Once Remy comes back to us, we will have the option of trying a 4-4-2 formation if its necessary, although i think the current formation suits us best, which means Remy would have to be an impact substitute from the bench

remember people moaning about Pards not having a plan B. well when 1-0 down lumping the ball to wicks and benteke is definitely a plan

Quite, plus with the League cup game midweek, I'd imagine he's lined up for that, possibly with Johnny Benteke and snr will lead the line at the weekend. Makes sense.

With our current formation, he can only be a bench player from now on
