I mean really, someone who Reading let go !! I know not every signing can be top drawer, but surely we can do better than this. Would we really be looking at him if he didn't score "that goal". Every player has there moment, and that was his. I don't remember him pulling up any trees when Reading were last in the premiership, infact Adam LeFondre seemed to make the goal scoring headlines.

I don't give a fcuk how desperate we are this is just a backwards step, do we not have any ambition? Ask any reading fan what they thought of him, he didn't cut it in the championship and he certainly won't in the premier league. Let's hope it's bull5hit but I can actually see it happening. well said. 100% agree.

I've asked this question on several threads and have never received a decent answer - who else are we likely to sign to be 3rd, possibly 4th choice striker? This is a guy that won't start for us but won't cost us anything and can in a pinch also play on the wing, I really fail to see what is so bad about it (unless of course we fail to sign a big name up front). We are crystal palace, regardless of relative recent success we still have to be realistic. Furthermore whilst you are right, reading fans don't seem to be that bothered, he wasn't released by them, he turned down their contract offers. Also he played a lot out wide so his goal record (like wickhams) isn't reflective of someone that consistently got to play in his favoured role.

As has been pointed out before, he ran his contract down and is a free agent - you comment that Reading let him go is incorrect.

You start the day thinking you're going to sign Benteke and you end the day thinking that you're going to replace Bolasie with Hal f***ing Robson-Kanu. Such is the life of the Palace fan.

Plus he's a Danish international so a) what would he cost and b) would he be interested in being 3rd/4th choice at palace rather than regular starter elsewhere? It's really not that simple.

If we can get Robson-Kanu in on a free, we can then sell Campbell possibly raise £2m, and it won't be a bad peice of business. I see this as a way of trading in your back up players and making a bit of cash at the same time. It's got to be looked at as a separate deal to Bolasie. Benteke or Berahino must be the replacement for Bolasie. As we've only got a net spend of £10m his transfere window, I still hope there are funds to bring in a few more players to bolster the squad. But then we have an awful record of replacing our best players.

But fair play Hal always gives 110% commitment & would be a good signing & especially on a free.
