Terence William Fenwick

How this plum got England caps I'll never know

And I even had the pleasure of being his postman :-)

I remember him as being popular.

I expect his mum loved him!!

Carl Veart used to get a fair amount of stick if I remember rightly. I know he wasn't the classiest player around, but he was booed when his name was read out!

I'm amazed that in 8 pages, no one has mentioned one of the most unpopular players of all and perhaps the obvious person for this thread: John Humphrey. A very good right back who improved us considerably but who had the misfortune to come from Charlton (where he was idolised) as payment for back rent and who, upon scoring his first Palace goal, singularly failed to celebrate, thus adding insult to injury. Never liked by the Holmesdale faithful.

You had to see Doris run to know why he was called Doris. Also known by some as "fish" for the same reason.

Ricky Newman was never popular (always played second fiddle to Gareth Southgate) but as a passer of the ball, I always felt he was under-rated (although time probably proved my judgment wrong.) He did, however, score a quite wonderful goal at Highfield Road in November 1994.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Phil Barber used to get a lot of stick.
Trevor Aylott (not sure of spelling) as well.
Recall a song to every s*** shot that a striker would hit being reffered to as "a son of AYlott

Couldn't have been that bad, given that he played over 200 games for us. I remember us signing him from non-league Aylesbury Utd. Suspect he must be in his 50s now.

Bruce Dyer for me, just didn't hit the back of the net enough.

Saw him on 'The Voice' yesterday pictured with his family. His wife Janine was singing on the programme.

Someone named Priest? Clearly remember my godfather singing "Priesty is a tosser" at one of my first matches as a kid, might have been Tranmere away circa 1996?
