I'd feel way more excited if this was a permanent deal. He seems like he'll develop into a top 10 quality player, but for this season we'd be getting someone very young who might struggle to make the step up. Would be happy to secure this loan but I'd still want another striker.

Very exciting if true, I hope it's a permanent as I have feeling in a years time everyone will be after him! Difficult to know at this stage whether we have aKane or a Sonogo on our hands, but it will be fun finding out!

People underwhelmed by Bamford clearly have never seen him play. Trust me, after a season with us you'll be gutted he wasn't a permanent signing. This kid has it all. Have to be honest, I am disappointed with the reaction. We get cabaye now only Messi will do. This kid was championship player of the year at 21! This time last year Austin hadn't set foot in the Orem either. Seriously, people need to get a grip! Edited by laddo (20 Jul 2015 4.47pm) Lad do please don't tell me what I have or have not seen. He did well in the championship there's a reason why Chelsea want him loaned out he ain't up to premiership football or they would have him in there squad. He'll never be a permenant signing so that's that argument out the window. It has nothing to do with the Cabeye deal. It's his loan I'm not impressed with. If we are potentially trying to improve our squad to try and get us into Europe we need committed players willing to sign for us not other teams cast offs to see if they are good enough or not.

Sensationally ignorant. Did Jack Wilshire get loaned to Bolton because he'd never play for Arsenal? This kid is 21 and won championship player of the year. The ignorance of some of our fans since we became a premier league club is staggering. I am only disappointed that we haven't got him permanently. Have you ever considered why Chelsea want to loan him out opposed to selling him?! Is it, err, because Chelsea rate him as having huge potential. Again, without sounding like a broken record the ignorance is off the scale!

Bamford looks CLASSY to me. Left foot, head, sometimes the right foot... great signing if it happens

Definite improvement on what we already have, depending on who goes obviously. Really disappointed it's a loan though although if his goals keep us in this league then it will be proved a good deal and you never know we might be in with a shout of keeping him permanently.

Just watched all his goals from last season, seems a decent poacher, scored a couple with his head aswell. I've seen him play a couple of times, has anybody seen him on a regular basis? I only ask as I'm wondering what he's got that gayle doesn't? Eg great strikers instinct/finishing ability. Be great to hae more depth in our attack, is his all round game better? Is he great in the air like murray? I know he's 4" taller bet that doesn't mean he's instantly better at holding the ball up. Otherwise he's just stifling gayles opportunities, whilst doing chelsea a favour. Edited by braunstoneagle (20 Jul 2015 7.57pm)

He's a very good player. If I had to compare him to a past player we had I'd say he's similar to Matt Jansen. Like Jansen he can drop deep and like Jansen he's also deceptively good in the air. People underwhelmed by this signing need to get a grip!

One thing for sure, this lads got future football pundit written all over him. I dont think I've ever seen such an assured, confident and comfortable young player like this in front of a camera before

That's what I thought. He is not what anyone would call a working class footballer say in the Rooney mould. Also looked at his goals, assists etc on you tube. He scores all types of goals, all types.
