Anton Otalikowsi. OK I have no idea how you spell it. One of the men from the late 80's I think. Bought from Millwall only lasted a couple of seasons then went off to some non league team I think.

Anyone got any further info on this bloke??

Its OK I just found this,

Alan Lee and Jonny Ertl stick out in recent years. Awful players, but always put a shift in.

Palace were cruising near the top of the old 2nd division when they visited Millwall for an end of season game. I think Neil Enblem was the Palace Captain and Palace were not too bad a side. Anton O'sky played on the right wing for 'Wall and proceeded to tear Palace apart by himself. A couple of times he went down in agony and one knee was heavily strapped. Within the week Palace had put in a good bid for him and he became a Palace player very quickly. That's as far as the quick bit went. He only played 3/4 games and suffered badly from injuries. It soon became obvious Palace had purchased a 'dud'. Palace did try to get compensation from Millwall on the back of them being sold such an injured player, but Caviate emptor ruled and in the short, middle and long term Palace missed out. Brilliance by Millwall, ineptitude from Palace.

Brian Bason........had the unenviable task of replacing Doris Hinshelwood at right back!!
He took so much stick we felt sorry for him and made him a banner!!

David Giles ,I remember him playing for Swansea in the F.A Cup against us and he looked a very decent player. Then we signed him and he never performed very well for the Palace.

I think you're confusing a few things here. Otulakowski joined us, courtesy of Lifeline in the summer of 86.87. The previous season he'd been injured a lot at Millwall and was now 30. We had to go to a tribunal to secure his signing whilst Millwall had wanted much more. His biggest highlight for us was a wonderful goal against Millwall, but within 12 games he was injured again and never recovered from it this time. As for Neil Emblen, he didn't sign for us for another 10 years (96) and I'm pretty sure was never captain in his dozen games

David Giles, Alan Irvine and Henry Hughton. All played in excruciatingly bad teams in the 80's but I liked them
