Some of the stupid homophobic bulls*** that people spout on these kinds of threads makes me ashamed to be a Palace fan sometimes.......i'm glad you idiots are the minority.

I agree. The responses have been far more ignorant and plain thick than I would have hoped.

... because the ignorant responders feed greedily on it.

No because we cant help taking the piss out of po faced do gooders like you.Lighten up a bit for gods sake.I actually doubt if anyone on here is a proper racist or homophobe they just like winding you up.

Fair enough, but not everyone feels like winding up all of the time, so I can guarantee you.. there are some, not a lot, but some.

.......has our coach driver done a Poo'yet, without thinking about Gus!

I find some of the replies on this thread very disappointing.

I think the campaign is a good idea and credit to Palace and the other clubs who have signed up to it. Hopefully more clubs will sign up to it soon!

I can't believe some of the reactions considering it's something that will make no difference to their life. If it does make a difference to their life, then they need to take a long hard look in the mirror. I think it's a good champaign and I'm glad that Palace have signed up for it, it's better than doing nothing.

Pink champaign (sic).

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'm right behind this, BTW. So to speak.

Why should I have these equality rules pushed on me that's not fair is it. I disagree with Gays and Lesbians (Unless there sexy) If everyone promotes these political correct bollocks surely it should work both ways. If people feel the need to force a good impression on them surely im entitled to call them woofters and bum bandits and refer to them as my favourite insulting term. POOF!!!!

Who would you consider sexy? Are you a Tom Daley kinda guy? Or do you prefer a more masculine look?

HAHA You got me there haha I mean lesbians.

I can't wait for a couple of players to come out, then we can stop banging on about it.

The sexuality, religious belief, personal hygiene habits, and dietary requirements of players doesn't matter a toss to me so long as they can play football. Our players will still be supported by our fans if they come out, players for other teams will still receive dogs abuse from our fans whether they come out or not.

I remember (in no particular order)
* he's got a tea towel on his head (Sodje at Crewe?)
* he's got a pineaplle on his head (can't remember his name - dodgy haircut)
* Nicky someone who's name eludes me - played for England I think, every time he came to take a corner getting abused about his weight (to the extent that he lifted his shirt at one stage to reveal a pretty impressive six-pack)

just get it over and done with already!

As Lisa Simpson said when watching a Pride march with people shouting "we're here, we're queer, get used to it": You're here every year, we ARE used to it

The p*ss taking out of Jason Lee and his pineapple actually affected him quite badly mentally. I remember reading in the past it put him in a bad way in the end. Endlessly banging on about something related to how you are is always going to take a toll, it isn't just harmless.

In which case he should simply have grown a pair or cut his f***ing ridiculous hair.

He could have worked in a car plant with that or Sainsburys and he would have been ridiculed.

As for this campaign - anything that raises equality is obviously laudable - although I am struggling to understand where this 'prejudice' and homophobia actually lies on the terraces

I would suggest the problem lies more within clubs, players and the meejia... Graeme Le Saux wrote a good piece about his experiences, especially with Scouse Cocaine king Robbie Fowler

Campaign director Lou Englefield added: "This isn't just about players coming out. It's about all of us - including heterosexual players and fans who attend matches week in week out - being willing to speak out and take visible action to challenge prejudice in the game."

Challenge what prejudice ??????

I remember a young John Barnes being pelted with bananas at Everton - I have yet to see a footballer coming under fire from a hail of dildo's when he is trying to take a corner

As for gay footballers

I had no idea there was a civil partnership in the England camp...

If you dont like it why not just f##k off and read the Guardian instead.Im actually proud that many of our fans make their own mind up on issues rather than be brainwashed by the liberal elite.

On the one hand you besmirch liberals, then refer to them as elite, which suggests they are better than everyone. Are you confused or just parroting cliched phrases from the press?
Sheer laziness, just like calling anyone who is right wing a fascist, which is clearly nonsense.

It's not fans fault if gay players don't want to come out. The 'abuse' would be near non-existant and certainly clamped down on.

If there is something that actually puts players off coming out, it's having a media circus around their personal lives.

As I said before, there won't be a player coming out until it suits them personally ie; someone trying to raise their profile for a media career.
