im watching him play against liverpool and he's playing well as a lone striker. doesnt look fully integrated but thats difficult for players who're just subs. also, think they got him on a free so 7m is decent and probs the best deal theyd ever get for him. Edited by wonder (29 Dec 2014 9.52pm)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Bafetimbi Gomis (rumour)' by Moose I'm watching him play for a swansea side well beaten by Liverpool and he looks a better option than anything we currently have, INCLUDING Murray, why people think Murray is the answer to our striking problems is beyond me. I like Muzza I really do, but he does not have the pace to trouble even the likes of Skertal the turtle, great finisher no doubt, but he wouldnt be able to get in the positions quick enough at this level. Gomis all day long, with someone like him we actually stand a chance of scoring and beating teams.

He's big and strong and Newcastle were linked before so it's fair to think Pardew reckons him. Now the Pardew deal looks all but done I have a feeling this is very much on, especially now Swansea have taken another striker on loan. Hope I'm not being over-optimistic, but these could be exciting times for us...

I'm sure that I read that the release clause only comes into effect at the end of the season and not in the January window. Doesn't mean that it's correct as the media have been known to be wrong - frequently
