if I'm not mistaken, weren't newcastle in for gomis in the summer?
if so won't he still be a target under pardew?

yeah?

im watching him play against liverpool and he's playing well as a lone striker. doesnt look fully integrated but thats difficult for players who're just subs.

also, think they got him on a free so 7m is decent and probs the best deal theyd ever get for him.

I'm watching him play for a swansea side well beaten by Liverpool and he looks a better option than anything we currently have, INCLUDING Murray, why people think Murray is the answer to our striking problems is beyond me.

I like Muzza I really do, but he does not have the pace to trouble even the likes of Skertal the turtle, great finisher no doubt, but he wouldnt be able to get in the positions quick enough at this level.

Gomis all day long, with someone like him we actually stand a chance of scoring and beating teams.

Agreed danny, he looked ok against Liverpool tonight. He's big and strong and Newcastle were linked before so it's fair to think Pardew reckons him. Now the Pardew deal looks all but done I have a feeling this is very much on, especially now Swansea have taken another striker on loan.

Hope I'm not being over-optimistic, but these could be exciting times for us...

He was lively against Liverpool. But why would Swansea sell him off when Bony will be leaving for the African Cup of Nations? Monk would have to be daft.

Mortimer, 6 million reasons why he would let him go. Potentially hasn't seen enough from him in training and he might think that the money could be better spent elsewhere perhaps?

6m profit in 6 months is pretty good business, I'd say!

He might not have a choice. There's a release clause in his contract and if Palace match it and the player wants to go, Monk can jump up and down all he likes but there's sweet FA he can do about it.

I'm sure that I read that the release clause only comes into effect at the end of the season and not in the January window.

Doesn't mean that it's correct as the media have been known to be wrong - frequently

Just scrolling through the sky sports transfer centre and there was a paragraph saying Pardew was aiming to make him his first signing....... for 20 bloody million? They must be having a laugh?
