Another one pleased by a far right party doing well. Keep nailing those colours. It's just indicative of the EU pushing policies that people don't want.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

You still don't get it. We don't hate the places you live, we hate a very small and specific subset of the people that live there. I've lived in plenty of places on this planet, unconstrained by the myopic wall EUrocrats have constructed themselves. I've done so entirely by merit, not because "muh freedumb of moovemunt". I don't brag about it, I don't shove it down people's throats, but I've gone where I've gone because I offer something to my host country that's more than "my passport says I can come in and you have to let me". I could up and leave and move to Vienna and pick up a job with very little difficulty. I choose not to. The UK is better for what I do, it offers more, and I don't abhor my country, nor it's culture, nor (mainly) it's people. People love sticking it to you, because you come across as unjustifiably smug in doing what anyone in the UK could do if they wanted. I personally pity you. Communicating on a technology invented by a Brit, writing in this dirty heathen language, on a platform for supporters of a British football club. So yeah, great. You live in f***ing Austria. Before that it was Malta. Aren't you just living the dream? "It's to be expected"? Haha, yeah, OK. Look how grubby your beloved Malta is: Enjoy the new Austrian government. I know I will.
You said "anyone in the UK could do it", well yes now they can. Not so much in 2 years. Those freedoms will then be denied all but the privileged.
It's sad that so much higher value is placed on capital in our society than labour. The more restrictions you put on movement of labour, the lower its returns and the lower its productivity.

So the guy wearing the mask, standing next to the one throwing a petrol bomb at police and public property is OK? The Democrats and even CNN and MSNBC have disavowed Antifa. The Department of Homeland Security has classified their activities as “domestic terrorism". So if you don't condemn, you are either ignorant about Antifa OR support this far left fascist organisation. It's very clear. So which is it? Edited by Penge Eagle (17 Oct 2017 9.25am)

I saw at the weekend that Grayling has shown the lack of joined up thinking or sense of reality of many of his colleagues. The man thinks we can just become self sufficient in food production post Brexit. The man's a lunatic with no sense of the world that we live in. Glossing over the fact that he's just making facile comments about something quite important, he's making them in the role of a government minister, but having zero policy behind those comments. He's also saying things with zero evidence to support them and on the contrary, plenty of evidence from farmers that what he's saying is nonsense. Sadly this appears to be the case amongst most of the cabinet. The reality is that their mismanagement, whether by lack of capability or wanton perversion of Brexit, is leading us to a situation where the poorest will become poorer (see study today from Sussex University and the Resolution Foundation). Don't be fooled, this is all in the name of a wealth and power grab by vested interests within the Tory party and their backers. This isn't the will of the people. That's why all they come out with is soundbites and falsehoods, while covering up any evidence of the reality that awaits.

Wow, another one who seems bitter and jealous, admitting it by resorting to expletives. Game, set & match? Candy from a baby anyone? One can swear without being bitter and jealous. And what would I be bitter or jealous about? I've very likely achieved more than you ever will, travelled further, lived in more varied places, and I strongly suspect my other half is much more attractive. My car's not too shabby either. Your metric for success appears to be exercising your right to encumber yourself on a set of nations by right merely of belonging to a club. Something any one of us can do (and in some cases, have already done). You're bragging about that achievement? Wow, you set the bar low.

It's called meritocracy. You're welcome to go make coffee in Amsterdam or Arequipa for all I care. It's down to the host nation to figure out if there's worth in allowing you to do so. For the record, I am from that "lower social class", but nice try in attempting to spark a class war.

You went from "not bragging about it" one minute to be "totally bragadocious" the next. Personal achievement and universal rights and freedoms are very different things and shouldn't be conflated. Indeed doing so and claiming that we live in a "meritocracy" is very much the problem at the heart of the Tory falsehoods on Brexit and society in general. Grace and favour is much more their bag.
