this is not a difficult decision, Keep the same team next year, and let Paddy learn from the more experienced people around him.

3 GAMES 3 WINS 9 GOALS, 2 AGAINST

Am I the only person who thinks this ????

Let him continue learning fine. With a view to promoting him to manager a year later? no way! Sentimental rubbish. We are supposed to be a professionally run Premiership team. Not some ragtag outfit that hands the job to an ex player to please the fans and get someone cheap. Those days are supposed to be long gone.
Let him manage in the EFL with a handshake agreement he'll be offered a chance at Palace if he does well and when the job becomes available.
You dont see many other successful established Premiership clubs handing their most important job to a novice.

LOL he wasn't paid that much.

The media has come out with some silly figures of claims one minute he was on 60m over 5 years then it was 50m.

Next they claimed he would be paid all of that for being fired not going to happen.

Mourinho for example who has been sacked from 3 prem clubs had received around 40m in total (not even going to get into tax etc and how Jose is a different level manager which matters)

I heard he was going to get about 18 months money as a pay off. So about £12 -15m.

It's ridiculous how much a manager is paid out when fired...

As long as Roy is around to take over for the final 10 games, if necessary, we should probably take a flyer on an up and comere

The rumour about Cooper coming is not good.
I would far rather keep Roy than have that hapen.

As much as I liked Roy during his first stint, and even more now, he was bought in with the mission to keep us up over the last 10 games, nothing more. He is not our future, so we should not delay the inevitable.

I suspect the club is already in conversation with available managers and someone new should come in after the the final game against Forest and be given the full pre season and a say in the summer transfers.

The talk of Paddy McCarthy is nonsense. He needs a minimum 5 years in the football league to prove himself as a high quality manager before being considered as a PL manager.

To me, if Graham Potter is available, he is the standout contender. His record prior to Chelsea is outstanding. Chelsea, at the moment, seem to have an expensive scatter gun approach to transfers which I guess would be difficult for any manager. Palace are probably a tad beneath Potter, but equally Potter might see as an opportunity to rebuild his reputation.

Weed would hate it too which would be a bonus.

With respect I don't view his record at Brighton in that category. When he was at the helm they finished 15th and 16th in his first two seasons, finishing below us.Last season they finished 9th.

I'm with you on this Willo. It surprises me that Potter received such high praise for his work at Brighton.

Neither Potter or Cooper get my vote.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Unpopular opinion perhaps however I have often thought that both the names you have mentioned attract the commentary they do as a result of exceeding what are initially very low expectations of them and therefore that is often conflated with them being very good as opposed to just 'not sh!t'.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Agreed. I don't understand the fuss about Potter. Brighton are doing well enough without him and his stint at basket case Chelsea speaks for itself.

I’m not convinced by Potter either.
In some quarters he’s seen as a budding Hodgson , but this seems more based on his taking on overseas early career coaching jobs and his unassuming approach rather than based on actual management credentials.
I know a few Brighton fans who were fed up with his playing of players out of position and his setting up of teams to play possession football seemingly without purpose.

I find it more difficult to assess Cooper.
He does have a good track record developing young players (Guehi and Gallagher played in his England and Swansea teams) and he did a very good job getting an underperforming Forest team promoted.
This season Forest has seemed something of a basket case with its scattergun approach to recruitment which is probably not Cooper’s fault.
At times they’ve still looked like a reasonably well coached team with a discernible pattern of play.
At other times they’ve looked chaotic and I’m surprised that Cooper did not make it a priority to get a settled defence to give a solid platform for the season.

I wouldn’t be averse to giving Cooper an opportunity but this would depend on the quality and experience of other candidates under consideration.

I don't think people look at the whole picture with Brighton/Potter. When they came up they were looked at as 'straight down againers'. Potter built them with the appropriate pace into a mid-table team.

He has also left a legacy they are still progressing with.
