In my inevitable very ill-articulated way, was my original point. I think the 'ordinary people paying the price for this' is another very good point. Many Russians caught up in this unwillingly and unawares as to why - apparently.

Yes, that is the tragedy of all war and we certainly see it here where this is so one sided and a car crash we get to witness rather than do a great deal about. The bravery of those ordinary people staying to fight is not something that we should understate or deny, as in another life we could've been in those shoes. Plunged into a hell that those instigating don't have to face. In line with that, I'm in total agreement about your 'many Russians' points too. As effective and all encompassing as the propaganda is, many of them are too victims of circumstance. Whatever the result of this invasion, there are no real winners here, and even if or when it's declared 'mission accomplished' Dubya style, it will be far from that.

Where's the footage?

What purpose would it serve Putin for Russian soldiers to attack Ukrainian civilians?

Wow, and I thought Steeleye was nuts - you take it to a whole new level.

Yeah because calling to send young men to die in a foreign war is perfectly normal but swearing at someone is beyond the pale.

I do not trust a single thing from the media. Especially after the last two years. My eyes have been well and truly opened to what they are about. I will continue to keep an open mind to the ukraine situation.

War is terrible but I do think Putin has been pushed to this point and had no other option. He has given every opportunity for talks.

Finally some sanity.

So from where have you been following the footage of the invasion from? Do you even believe Russia has invaded?

You wouldn't think that the KGB could be bothered to infiltrate a football forum!

I believe Putin had other options, however I'm in agreement....the media has been an utter joke. Putin called the west an 'empire of lies' and I'm afraid that isn't far off.

In the first days of this conflict a tank literally intentionally ran over the car of an elderly driver. 'Why' something happens based on an individuals personal motivations, outlook or dislike of an imagined 'enemy' is secondary to the fact that it does. As I stated this happens in every war so it's hardly news. If you are so blinkered in an outlook that you cannot fathom that, then I can't help.

As stated, I have detailed multiple videos. They are very real , NSFW and easy to find based on a description. I'm not going to post videos of people shot to death as an 'in' for you to conjure up ridiculous angles to invalidate the fate they faced because you can't face obvious facts and have some twisted acceptable of what is happening. For someone apparently 'in the know' perhaps you should ask yourself why your platforms of choice elect not to show one single clip of harm being done to Ukrainian civilians by those invading them. Do you think bombs dropped in residential areas are for peoples health? Or is that 'fake news' too? By all means be critical of mainstream media, but doubling down in a different direction has hardly brought for closer to truth. A denial of it though, certainly.
