I still have PTSD from losing 0-3 at home to Huddersfield Originally posted by Willo
Two of those games were away to Man C and Man Utd !

Nuno is now joint favourite on Coral at 5/2. He would be a wonderful appointment. Would keep the solid foundation, integrate young players, utilise our pace on the counter attack. Would also attract players to join. The best candidate we've been liked to so far by a country mile. Edited by Mstrobez (27 May 2021 9.48pm) i have my doubts about nuno...and whether he was a success at wolves due to the constant drip feeding of world class wonderkids, and european championship winners. he wont get any of that at palace.

Never say never, depends on he's skills in the transfer market. One of the best we've been linked with so far. Get it done.

Nuno is without doubt the best name being mentioned, but I can’t see him wanting to join Palace. It will be Frank Lampard until Christmas with Roy coming back to save us with a 6 month contract.

I agree. I like him and think he is a good manager but having close links to a super agent certainly helped his cause at Wolves .

Sorry but Nuno coming to Palace seems like wishful thinking to me. He's seen what Hodgson had to put up with. Why on earth would he want to come? It will be one out of Lampard, Dyche and Cooper.

While I doubt whether Nuno would want the job, personally he would be my preferred choice out of all of the front runners as he ticks a lot of boxes: - he tends to play on the counter which is what our squad is built around

I agree completely. I've been guilty of being a little unkind to posters who argued the club should approach the likes of Tuchel, Pochetino, and even Mourinho (many did by the way, and not in jest), and though Nuno is not in that same second-to-top bracket, he is totally out of our league. He has spoken openly about how much he missed his family while working in England, so I'd expect him to explore Portuguese club options ahead of a perma-relegation threatened English team. Even if we do somehow have a 'warchest' of £50m, that won't touch the sides of the work that needs doing to the team just to stop it slipping backwards. We are an appealing proposition to those looking to show that they are capable managers in the premier league, but Nuno has already shown that. He managed Valencia and Porto into champions league spots before he joined Wolves, which he did on the strict understanding that a swift rise to the top end of the premier league was assured. How any of this is a good fit for us is beyond me. Why we would ever appeal to him is just a mystery.

It seems unlikely he’d join Palace considering he doesn’t need to rush and will have bigger clubs after him eventually but he is also the joint favourite with a bookmaker. So it’s not even remotely comparable to Pochettino or Tuchel.
