I hope we don’t open travel corridors to/from the EU for holiday purposes. Why risk re-importing the virus (including new strains) until Europe embraces the need to vaccinate to beat the virus. Do you have a British holiday business?

It has to be said that while I don't put total faith in the accuracy of statistics in this area the disparity between the UK and most of Europe on acquiring and distributing vaccine is stark. The rapid and efficient vaccination of the UK's most vulnerable seems to have had a dramatic effect upon the number of cases. Not sure what your chart figures are exactly. Daily U.K. ‘positives’ 4,802 and deaths 101 and falling Daily France ‘positives’ 27,325 and deaths 435 and rising This was always a possibility with their poor vaccine planning, and even moreso with their usual stubborn and sour politics. Population sizes almost the same. France recently recorded 65 million. If the usual suspects can keep a lid on their variant hysteria we can have more calm. But I’m not surprised that some are so used to and find so much comfort in their new attachment to fear and fear narratives they don’t want to see it snatched away from them so will comply with a panic that other countries are going the opposite way to us. I almost expect it now. A bit like Linus on Charlie Brown with his security blanket and that musky smell following him around, only it’ll be wearing a loose nappy on the face in the car or out for a walk in the fresh air. Jesus Christ it’ll be a relief when those who want to can do some normal things while others wait for the government to say it’s okay.

Yep, this situation has gone on for so long that a percent have grown use to it like a weird form of Stockholm syndrome. But that's a minority and hopefully soon most can enjoy the coming summer how it's meant to be enjoyed.

That lasts about 12 hours then achy for another day. Just your body performing its task. Oh and you might have a headache and an arm like mike tysons punch bag bag. But... at least you will have protection, after 3 weeks

Had my first AstraZeneca jab today. Just thought I'd announce that. Congratulations. I was volunteering yesterday at the Bromley Vaccine Centre we did a record 1000+ of the AZ jab today they are going for a new record 1300. We are really starting to motor. 40 people missed their appointment which is quite a high number we don't no why possibly 2 reasons: 1. People scared by the bad press reports from EU land which is a worry. 2. This is a national vaccination centre it is possible that people booked and then received an invite from their local GP surgery and opted for that instead. That's fine but they should have cancelled their appointment with us. Not sure what's going to happen over the next few weeks with the numbers. As we have only been going a few weeks we will not be doing 2nd doses until the summer. It is possible that they will reduce our supply to focus on that however the bulk of first doses was the Pfizer jab and you don't mix and match so hopefully we can continue at this high rate. Staff and patients have been great I can't recall one person complaining just the opposite. C'mon Britain we can do it.

Each week I have to have a lateral flow test before I start (no problem with that) you book online but when you turn up you have to repeat the same details on your phone. So yeah NHS technology not the best.

I can appreciate this thinking. I can foresee a scenario whereby infections rise in other countries due to their tardy vaccination roll-out, we shut our borders placing even more countries on the 'Red List', holidays abroad cancelled and airlines and major travel companies going to the wall.Millions more unemployed.
