And yet you are overtly and quite abusively anti-welfare. And have had no issue with the countless Tory policies which have made many more people's lives considerably worse. But on this occasion you just want to help people... I don't buy it. So you are a regular Wolfie Smith right up until a Labour mayor slaps a ridiculous tax on poorer people just going about their business? The older I get, the more I detest 'socialist' hypocrites.

Yes, environmental policies are something I will more or less always support, because I think it's important. A lot more important than the manufactured culture war bullsh*t most people spend their time worrying about. If you took the time to read the thread, pretty much my first contribution was that "Starmer/Labour have made an absolute pigs ear of their positioning on this, as they do with everything at the moment," I have expressed my dislike for Starmer and this Labour many, many times. I've also never claimed to be a socialist. Other than that your spot on.

Of course there are going to be more measures to deter individual drivers and encourage people to cycle/use public transport etc. - that's not some shadowy conspiracy, it's just the obvious direction of travel with plenty of other major cities in Europe already having pedestrianised huge areas. Manchester has done the same. The reliance on cars we have as a society currently is not sustainable - you may as well come to terms with that reality now. I think you are completely missing the nuance of spending £160m on cameras and telling the public it’s for improving air quality. Firstly there is is a proven minuscule only improvement on air quality as a result of such a policy and secondly it’s a tax, nothing more nothing less, thirdly, the way they have gone about it is sly in the extreme and finally your idea that people cycle and use public transport is frankly laughable. Have you seen the quality of the public transport in the wider ULEZ zone?

If Sad Dick was serious in his concerns for air quality then he would have saved squillions on cameras and signs and banned all non-compliant vehicles from entering the zone.

Would you rather die by strangulation or drowning? Burn or freeze to death? And any other equally horrific scenarios.

SDK advising citizens not to go to Oxford Street as ferrel gangs run wild attempting to mass steal from shops. The tourist recovery slogan was " Let's Do London ", irony abounds Maybe change to " Let's Do JD Sports "
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

These t***s wouldn’t be missed and it would stop the future burden on society that many of these most certainly will be.

The idea that Boris, or indeed 95% of all politicians, are not 'wiping their arse with our money' isn't really accurate - they're all at it, and Khan wouldn't even make a top 10 of worst offenders. Have you ever looked into who claims what on expenses each year? Nadine Dorries hasn't done her job for a year (no surgeries, no votes, has not been to the HoC), is on full pay, and has her two daughters 'working' for her on £40k a year each. Suella Braverman has claimed £25k on energy bills for a house she doesn't use. Boris covered his legal fees with hundreds of thousands of pounds of taxpayer money. Helen Whately claimed £40k in rent on her London property, despite her main home being just 50 miles away.
