I cannot believe that we would would be stupid enough to send out a young striker on loan, with Trabzonspor given the first option to buy for a price less than what we paid for him a year before. Surely the main purpose of this was for him to get more game time and return better a better player? At the same time, if these rumours aren’t true, someone in the club would come out and said so by now. This looks like a major balls up. Bloody Sorloth banging in as many goals this season as our entire team whilst we persist without Benteke.

Tbh when he was agreeing the loan many of us would have thought we'd be lucky to get 6m for him. Yes it now seems why oh why didn't we put a call back clause in but rewind 6 months and many just wanted him out the door. Being Palace he'll undoubtedly provide Trabzonspor with a tidy profit but the 42m Madrid rumour is undoubtedly a load of sh**.

Sorloth should stay put in Turkey. He must be loving his football. Big crowds he is the star, scoring loads of goals. The perfect dream. Who cares if the standard of football is not quite as high?

The person in charge of these things is one Mr D Freedmam. He is where this whole fiasco started and should end with him being sacked for gross incompetence. OK send the guy on loan and OK maybe offer an option to but but to do a 2 year loan where we have no right of recall or indeed any rights at all is just negligent. This fiasco has also probably tainted all other transfer dealings as people must look at us whenever we want to buy or sell and think you don't know what you are doing Mind you we prove that again and again in the market.

You believe everything you read? Don't think he will ever play for Madrid , though Barcelona's emergency forward has made a little cautious. What certainly never will happen that he will fetch 48 m, not in 48 million years. Suited ok for Belgium and Turkey, that's it.

Is this really as bad as it looks? If he was that good, why did he end up on loan at Trabzonspor and not a bigger/better club in a bigger/better league, either on a loan or as permanent when it was clear we wanted him out? Maybe he's just in the right place at the right time at the moment?

Look at it another way. SP is trying to re-stablish Palace as a club able to give young players real prospects. An example from earlier times is a former Club Captain. Mr Southgate is now the England Manager. Young followers of the current example of Palace providing the route from playing in Norway (as a journeyman) to playing in Spain (as highly regarded fully mature professional) could be likely to ask if they can join our Level One Academy (when it opens for business).
