Your memory is rubbish Nah we have 52,000 v Burnley and a 49,000 v Chelsea (or was it Arse?) and a 45,000 v Liverpool (FA Cup so probs that one you are thinking about) The fact that my memory is rubbish has never been in doubt. I marvel at the way that you guys remember the fine details of matches from decades ago . Perhaps it was Burnley as all I can remember was that the crowd was over 50,000 and I couldn't smoke as I couldn't move my arms far enough to get the cigarettes out of my pocket

Another reason maybe why Parish shouldn't be hinting at the obvious because there was a fan gathering, although as I see it, it's putting pressure on parties who hold some cards. If that works, great, I want my club to grow and I'm sure there's other affordable properties those few residents can find with the inflated purchase fee compensation or whatever they call it. But it didn't work with the 'car park slither' comment in the tv studio which appeared to be a rallying call when we had nothing to protest. It just looks shabbily done. Not having the councils full backing and agreement before going about objections and protests from locals although imo they bought houses near to a football ground because they're cheaper. You must realise there's a possibility they'll develop into something larger, and it's only 20 half days a year anyway, plus you might get somewhere decent to go to drink, eat or whatever because I doubt the Clifton pulls many people in and neither does south Norwood or Thornton Heath. This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave I would be happy to see a finished plan of what we are going for, i think its gona be the main stand but three times bigger like liverpool, build it over while keeping my seat in the main stand, bigger the better, its taking time but a proper plan to view is progress of sorts!

That said the Counsellors response to an announcement about an announcement was just as much of a car crash and may well gives us all an insight into the type of people the club has to deal with in order to get things moving. For him to say the Council Support the clubs ideas and plans only to then have a public spat (one way at the moment) is duplicitous to say the least.

CRYSTAL PALACE are set to announce plans to re-develop Selhurst Park to a 40,000-capacity ground. The Premier League club have seen themselves left behind their rivals having been restricted in their matchday revenue potential by their current 26,000 stadium. Crystal Palace are looking to redevelop their Selhurst Park stadium Palace have even looked at the possibility of building a new stadium elsewhere in the area - but now seem close to deciding staying at their home of 93 years is the right decision. The club and Croydon Council have been locked in discussions over the past year over the feasibility of expanding Selhurst Park. And now they are one the verge of lodging a formal planning application early next year with the view to bringing their old ground up to modern standards. Palace chairman Steve Parish said: “This side of Christmas there will be a major announcement. “We have been working very hard for a long time to try and get the right idea and we think we have now got it. "When I came into this thing, the aim was to bring something for all of us to be proud of on the pitch and very importantly off the pitch. “We want to give everybody in Croydon and South London a stadium that we can all be proud of and not lose our atmosphere and uniqueness. Plans have to be issued before anyone can comment on them. The ball is firmly in CPFC's court Edited by Forest Hillbilly (23 Nov 2017 10.01am) Three thoughts: 1) I swear I heard a commentator on the "cost of football" survey the other day say that match day revenue was almost irrelevant in terms of financing PL clubs. He even cited "clubs like Crystal Palace" being able to get by despite having much smaller crowds than the clubs with big stadiums. 2) "Locked in discussions over the past year". Ah so that's why we failed to buy a striker or a goalie. 3) 38,075 v Millwall March 1976 Division 3 may not be right at the top of the attendance list, but it was a cracking atmosphere (albeit we blew it by only drawing 0-0 - missing a penalty as I recall) and it would surprise me if there's been a higher 'third tier' attendance since. (no doubt someone will now surprise me )

Just had a look at top 20 attendances at Selhurst , I was at 17 of them and that don’t include the the Wimbledon v Leeds replay which was 44,000 odd , the Sheffield Wednesday FA Cup game is a strange one , would be lucky to top 15,000 for Cup tie these days Where can I find the list please, simlaboy?

Match day revenue may not be that significant but it's certainly relevant as there's going to be something that gives you an edge or not over about 10 clubs in the league, which can crucially prevent relegation. Parish has said that it's corporates that make more money but besides that, the main stand is 93 years old and the other option in the arfur you can't get to the toilet during ht. That cannot continue forever.
