Just watched the Eddie Howe interview on their website. Must say, he seemed very subdued as well as emotional.

Do you have a link to that interview? I've read the transcript but would like to see it for myself. Cheers.

I think you'll need to be a subscriber to Palace World though to log in.

Thanks, I am.

Knowing our luck he will end up at the Clowns and we will be back to square one.

Having seen the interview I suppose I've softened a bit from my impatience last night. It's clearly a difficult place he's in and a tough decision for him to make.

I think we'll know one way or the other tomorrow.

Remember that CPFC2010 approached Eddie Howe NOT the other way round. Of course he needs a little time to make his decision. He had a team to prepare for Saturday and he would have been unprofessional to not give that his full attention. This is a major decision for him to make for both his career and his family. I am sure he will give his decision tomorrow and I will respect him whatever that decision is.

After listening to his interview from yesterday, I've gotta say if Eddie Howe chose to stay at Bournemouth, I would have so much respect for that decision. Obviously I hope we get him, but I can understand it if he doesn't want to move. Seems like an honest, decent man. Whatever he does he deserves respect for how he's handled the whole situation. Hopefully..... Eddie Howe's Red n Blue Army!!!

I can't believe there's already a small Eddie Howe backlash simmering away.

What's wrong with him taking a little bit of time (Oh my god THRRRREEEE WHOLE DAYS!) to make what is a huge decision for him?

It's not just a change of job, it's a complete upheaval of him/his family & he needs to assess whether he considers himself ready and good enough to make such a big change worthwhile. Not just from his point of view, but from our point of view too. He doesn't want to do us any diservice by making a rash decision when he's not ready.

There's nothing wrong with him having such a huge emotional connection to Bournemouth, the vast majority of his professional career (playing & managing) has been there & he's currently part of a huge love-in with both fans and the players- this is something that is all too rare in football, and how many times do we all whinge about people in football "leaving/only being in it for the money" or "having no loyalty"... and now some of you are having a dig at him for not jumping off his Bournemouth bandwagon like s*** off a shovel.

Let's hope he mulls it over and comes to a decision that is best suited for all concerned:
-We could get one of the brightest young managers in football
-Eddie gets a chance to better himself at a (slightly) bigger club
-Bournemouth get a nice lump of compensation money.

(come to Palace Eddie)

-and to those all still harping on for Coppell, what par of 'retired from football management' don't you understand?

Well said and thank you. I'm astounded, in these days of there being no loyalty in this game at all - or so it seems - that there are people here slagging Eddie off for wanting to be sure that he makes the right decision.

Stop being a meladramatic prat. No one is slagging him off.

I think you'll find Seth, to name just one, wasn't being entirely complimentary. Though he has had the grace to take some of that back now he's heard the interview. Thank you Seth

You do not know that for sure. A ruck of CVs from potential managers was given to CPFC and Eddie Howe like all connected with this game we love will have an agent whom may well of contacted SP.
Against, is that I have put my self forward for jobs that following an interview have thought about it and said no.

I didn't put my self forward for the Palace job though as 3 years experience managing Beaumont Grove under 15s probably did not quite give me the experience required on the person specification!!!!

I personally hope he comes but will respect the guy's decision if he chooses to stay on at Bournemouth.
As I've said though I do hope our owners made it clear that although it's a huge decision for the guy our circumstances (with tranfer window already over a week old) dictate we need to get a move on.
I think it's reasonable to expect a decision by lunchtime tomorrow. That will have been 4 days since he was offered the job to weigh up the pros and cons. If we dont have a decision by then I think our owners should move on to the next candidate on the shortlist as I feel if EH is still unable to make a decision by then it is clear he is too emotionally attatched to Bournemouth to give Palace as much of his heart and soul.
And this FF is in no way slagging the guy off. Far from it but sooner or later in life if a decision has to be made and you dont make it that decision has to be taken out of his hands.

Now I'd have loved to have seen the incredulous look on SP's face when opening that particular application!
