"My point is that we need a controlled rate and I would suggest a secular only one." You need to qualify that Stirling old chap otherwise you are basically saying that all Christians, Jews, Muslims, Animists, Quakers and others would, basically, banned from being considered for immigration status. That knocks out most Italians, Spanish, Israelis, a lot of Americans, many Indians, Turkish, etc, even if they have unique skills, scientific, academic, engineering, creative, that would enhance us. Fair enough if you are, saying that. Extreme imo but one rule for all I am assuming so no grey area. Legal minefield though and would lead to a terrible breakdown of social cohesion. Broken up families what with some members being religious and some not, that kind of thing.

Secular means accepting that there is a separation between religion and state and that the state holds primacy. You can hold your religion dear and also be secular. We only need secular people in this country.....it's an unfortunate reality that we haven't had this view over the last fifty years. Instead people with your beliefs have led us to our current state.....we would have far less problems in cohesion and public safety if those beliefs had followed my simple request. Are you going to tell Liz to f*** off, what with her being quite high up in the CofE.

Brexit: Ministers try to push through plans for £100m royal yacht as EU talks remain deadlocked. Just what we need as 490 billions 'disappears' from the UK accounts due to brexit. Johnson and co just running loose.

And if they tick 'yes' immigration status denied. Wouldn't everyone tick 'no' though? Oh, yeah "people with my beliefs". Care to have a stab at what you perceive to be my beliefs in relation to the subject at hand so I can say whether you have hit the nail on the head or not?

Do you think he should be removed from office in that case?

Where does Mogg say he doesn't accept secularism....he doesn't.....He's a member of parliament for goodness sake. His religion reflects his votes perhaps but he doesn't advocate for a theocracy and anyone suggesting otherwise is lying. Like I said and what doesn't seem to find a home....you can hold your religion dear but you have to accept the separation of religion and state and that the state hold primacy. Mogg's a democrat and does exactly that.

I would certainly agree that the Church of England should no longer hold positions of influence politically....been saying that for a long time. However, the CoE cause no cultural or security issues in this country. As for how we would set up a rejection of non secular people within the country I would have to think about it. Off the top of my head it would be by not allowing immigration from certain nationalities, as Trump has done.

Father John McDonnell trained as a Catholic priest - obviously a Vatican 'sleeper'. (As are all those St. Josephs oiks.) Edited by hedgehog50 (16 Oct 2017 12.14pm)
