I agree. Their counter argument is that immunocompromised people who cannot be vaccinated won’t be protected if people don’t get vaccinated.
If they were serious in protecting that group then we should have been having flu vaccines for the entire population from the year dot....and vaccinating people all the time against multiple ailments. Yet that was never done because of the recognition that few among the young die of the flu....and other treatments were only ever offered if it was thought they were relevant to that individual. We live in a reality where airplanes could have had safety features to save passengers but they have never been implemented because of cost and low risk....for example the technology for modular planes that could detach the whole passenger section with parachutes could have been done many decades ago. That's what seems to have gone out the window....the recognition that life involves risk and the choice to take them or not. Today's generation are treated like infants....by control freaks offering certainty...possibly sometimes down to their own egos and god complexes. Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Dec 2020 2.58pm)

It was announced yesterday that the new strain is "Out of control". I foresee yet another National Lockdown in the new year for a few months and countries not allowing us to visit them.

So when you supply information on here which you have in abundance in the last few pages, are you 100% sure it is correct. Do you know it is correct? Lots of eminent doctors disagree with one an other but you appear to be preaching the gospel according to St Mapletree. If you cannot guarantee that information is true then you my friend are the one dealing in misinformation. The others are talking about people’s right and their options. I always let you know my sources But if you would rather trust some rando on Twitter than the NHS and CDC then there is little hope for you. If you make a statement like 'there are a number of nasty reactions to the virus' or 'it doesn't matter if young people don't get vaccinated' then you had better have some excellent studies available to counter the views of those with responsibility for lives. It is irresponsible to strongly assert 'facts' that are demonstrably unsupportable and also likely to lead to deaths. Or terribly stupid. Your choice.

Yeh, silly snowflakes choosing to get ill or die. Wouldn't have happened in my day. You actually believe it is reasonable to compare 257 deaths in plane crashes to 1.7m deaths from COVID. We definitely live in parallel universes. Nobody knows if you will still pass the vaccine at all after vaccination. It is well established you will not be as prone to transmitting it as before you had the vaccine. “There is a theoretical risk that you could pass the virus on to others despite being vaccinated,” says Kirsten Hokeness, Ph.D., director of Bryant University’s new Center for Health and Behavioral Sciences. And we definitely need more answers before people stop wearing masks. But virus transmission by vaccinated people hopefully won’t be the case. “The goal of the vaccine is to create immunological memory in the body so that when you encounter the virus in the future, your immune system rapidly ramps up and attacks the virus very quickly before you get sick. Therefore, as long as the vaccine boasts a strong immunological response, it is likely that the virus will be stopped from replicating in your system pretty quickly,” Dr. Hokeness says. That would limit your ability to spread it to others. “It can happen, but the risks would be far less than if you were not vaccinated,” she says, adding that “since the vaccine requires a booster it may be that your ability to spread the virus would be greater if you only got one dose, but there is not data available yet that would suggest that that is the case.

I seen a stat that only 0.06 percent of the world population has dies from covid. And thats if it was recorded properly. I have never seen so many people divided over this! and the scaremongering and fear tactics by the government / media. I am in the camp of "Wash your hands, wear your mask and just get on with life" Even tho i think masks are ineffective I still wear one for others. I am not a fan of vaccines myself. I wouldnt consider myself an "Anti-vaxxer" either. I wouldnt put someone off getting the vaccine I just wouldnt get it myself.
