They are richer than us and don't have significant immigration, are buying and cancelling debt without increasing inflation. All your ideas did was destroy social cohesion. The ideas you back improved nothing but worsened lives for those who couldn't escape the consequences.
Japan's ageing problem... Seems they might need immigration to get them out of a fix.

The people of Japan reject immigration with its multiculturalism and inevitable breakdown of social cohesion. I guess they just don't want the fifth columnists either. Japan is richer than us and is currently reducing its debt despite its aging population. Automation will, in part, solve the aging crises.....in their case faster than in ours because their need is greater. The rate of age expectancy in the UK is slowing but continuing to rise.

Edited by Stirlingsays (16 Oct 2017 9.30am) Did you not read the links? Japan is in trouble if they don't get people in. The population is heavily weighted towards oldies who have retired. If no immigration means richer are you saying we are underperforming being only the 5th or 6th richest nation.

And this obsession with Japan is relevant to the UK how? We can't turn the clock back and send 'them' 'home'. They are home. Most. I would also argue that the biggest breakdown in social cohesion here had its nascence in the 80's not with immigration but with swathes of the north and other less fortunate areas being laid waste by ill thought out Government policy. Had you heard of chavs, Asbos, mass homelessness and the underclass before 1980? No, me neither. Edited by Kermit8 (16 Oct 2017 9.44am)

Not so there is always demand for immigrants in Japan to work on the railways.

So all those lies we have had to listen to about immigration should just go unchallenged? Have we not been debating the benefits and negatives of differing levels and rates of immigration into this country? My point is that we need a controlled rate and I would suggest a secular only one. I only just pointed out the other day the watch lists and number of M15 investigations we have to put up with because the left want their 'internationalism'. Originally posted by Kermit8

Social cohesion is a multi faceted area but your willingness to ignore its principle reason for damage is just a denial of reality that the Brexit vote shoved into your mush. All those problems have been with us as a society....a date of 1980 is meaningless.....different buzzwords for old realities that's all.
