I’ll be surprised if we have a new man before august. They’ll probably have the fridges working, the half time drinks chilled and enough hot food before we get the new/right manager in.

I'd go Nuno Santo. Has finished a couple of times 8th with Wolves which is about as high as a non top 6 team can go bar Leicester Btw - Fdb lost his first 4 league games and Roy his first 3. One difference is that Zaha came back v Chelsea Edited by Vincehair (27 May 2021 5.20pm) There were and are a few differences between FDB and Roy. The way FDB went about some things early on showed a lack of care and respect for the position he was hired for, and with his arrogance it looked like he didn’t care if it went wrong, after saying he’d do it gradually. There were obvious problems with him so I wouldn’t be frustrated about that one.

Who was told they were surplus to requirements? Before the season started? Nuno was apparently sacked by Wolves so they have a high opinion of themselves- maybe Nuno dosent Edited by Vincehair (27 May 2021 7.24pm) The odds advertised by the bookies are not really a proper betting market, moves in the betting have to be interpreted, it's interesting now Dyche is generally between evens and 7-4 favourite, but he is 11-4 in one place, he's probably about to have a meeting with the directors, it would be calendared so his odds go down. More interesting is that Nuno is biggest 6-1, and that his exchanges odds are only 3-1, every other candidate their exchange odds are much bigger than the bookies odds as is the norm - from this I would infer Nuno is not only being considered but his considering it himself. Without the odds I would find the possibility fanciful, but looking at oddschecker plus the exchanges it seems a genuine possibility.

I just had a look at the exchange history and Nuno was introduced to the betting at 16/1 yesterday across the board, was gradually backed down to 5-1 by the bookies, on the exchanges his odds went into 12-1 then they collapsed to 1-100 - bets were stopped, betting was opened up again and Nuno opened up at 3-1 and slowly drifted out to 7/2 and was backed back in again to 3-1 - solid money - it doesn't mean too much necessarily, very likely there's been contact though and it was taken seriously, it's only speculation but money talks.

Plus a couple of others, though I'm not sure who other than Ward confirming that he and a couple of others found it difficult to be discarded by fdb without being given a chance. Some reports said Kelly and Delaney. Edited by TheBigToePunt (27 May 2021 8.22pm) Edited by TheBigToePunt (27 May 2021 8.26pm)

I’d take the Nuno possibility seriously if our owners had more urgency and interest in improving the club and their asset rather than reacting in transfer windows to relegation threats, which they did after Pardew was sacked and Allardyce came in. But Nuno does set teams up to counter attack so it could be one of the surprise appointments of the decade.

Nuno had a dream, (to the tune of Sloop John B of course).

No way is Lampard the man for Palace. He had a top four squad that sat mid table before Chelsea booted him. He needs a few years Championship experience before being the man to manage in the Premiership again.

Nuno is now joint favourite on Coral at 5/2. He would be a wonderful appointment. Would keep the solid foundation, integrate young players, utilise our pace on the counter attack. Would also attract players to join. The best candidate we've been liked to so far by a country mile. Edited by Mstrobez (27 May 2021 9.48pm)

I’m sure I read that he left Wolves as he was missing his family and the Covid pandemic and only emphasised this. It wouldn’t therefore make sense for him to come to us and not return back to Portugal to be with them. Then again, Dowie left for Charlton under similar circumstance.

I sincerely hope Sp gets serious if even a remote possibility, I’m guessing Nuno would wish to stay in the prem and we have an immediate vacancy .. but tbh can see Newcastle taking an interest..
