Not relevant to this thread, but didn't Niasse do something to anger us all at a home match against Everton 2 or 3 years ago? Or did he just score against us?

It doesn't mean that's what's going to happen, more that's what the club's intentions are at a particular moment in time.

It was more the fact that he dived for a penalty and received a retrospective ban from the FA than the goal he scored in the match.

If we were willing to pay more than this until his injury then I have no worries about the tribunal figure. We will still get him cheaper this way.

Although I would imagine our initial January offer will be taken into consideration, so possibly more will be paid than a normal tribunal valuation. It appears that we have made an offer to stop it going to a tribunal but rejected by West Brom

It appears that we have made an offer to stop it going to a tribunal but rejected by West Brom According to fullcontactlaw.co.uk the PFCC decide the fee by taking into account the costs of both clubs in operating a Football Academy or Centre of Excellence, as well as the age and playing record of the player, the length of time he was registered with his original club, the terms offered by both clubs, the status of the two clubs, the substantiated interest shown by other clubs in acquiring the registration of the player and any amounts paid by the original club to acquire the player in the first place. The only similar example to Ferguson was Cresswell 10 years ago so I would expect the initial fees to go up massively but the structure of the deal to be similar: AARON CRESWELL Aaron Creswell had made 70 or so league appearances for Tranmere Rovers when, aged 21, he rejected a new long term contract offer. He signed for the Championship club Ipswich Town on a three year contract.

It is very difficult to predict what tribunal will decide. We bid £12 million for a fully fit player. The injury will have a great effect on initial value. there is no guarantee he will recover fully and be same player again. My guess is they will go for a low initial fee with further sums on reaching milestones such as number of appearances , call up to senior national squad etc plus a sell on fee percent. After Zaha experience we fear this last part and hence tried to agree a figure without a sell on clause
