There is a rematch clause but what's the point? Khan wins that and they have a decider? Would the demand be there after that one? I think that would only have happened if it was a close fight. It wasn’t.

Looks like a Eubank jnr fight might be on the cards for Brook. It's taken him out of Khan's shadow in his boxing twilight years. Not a bad bank balance bookend to his career either. The classy move would be to bow out, as it's certainly possible to read too much into beating this version of Khan. I expect we'll see him in the ring again now though off the back of this win.

Khan looks like he has no more fights left in him. Brook might be tempted by others, but although he won the fight, he'd be kidding himself if he thought he was back in the BigTime. Good fight

Listened on the radio sounds like Brook won well but this fight should have happened 10 years ago. I doubt either fighter is going to have much of an impact on boxing from here on in.
"Khan is a fighter who single-handedly carried the torch for Team GB's boxing squad at the 2004 Olympics, winning silver in Athens. He is a fighter who paved the way for future Olympic stars such as Anthony Joshua, Nicola Adams and James DeGale." I'm sure that Joshua, Adams and Degale will be delighted to hear that their success is all down to Khan. All boxers start off as amateurs and the go professional. Khan has had a good career but going from the Olympics into pro Boxing is nothing new. The reporter might as well have said that Ronaldo's achievements are all down to Eusebio. A boxers achievements are their own.

In all fairness to khan, I know amateur boxing has been massively funded in recent years, pretty sure it was something like the 4th most funded Olympic sport a few years ago, not sure how much it had to do with khan's success at Athens tho I'm guessing it helped justify more funding.

Part of an article : "Weightlifting and boxing are the “two problem childs of the Olympic movement” and remain at risk of being removed from the 2028 LA Games programme, the International Olympic Committee president, Thomas Bach, has warned. Bach expressed his deepest concerns about weightlifting, which has faced significant doping and governance issues, while it was made clear to boxing that it needed to continue making significant reforms following financial problems and the judging scandal at the 2016 Rio Games "
