Agree completely. Roy is a decent and dignified man who reflects well on the club. We had the excitement of the Big Mal years and I know what I prefer.

Proved again today that he can get the best out of them. I think this is still about stabilising the club in the prem at the moment number 1 and he’s a solid man for that. He’s got experience coming out of his ears and gets enough right. There’s been few bad runs of bad form apart from at the start. The disappointment has been the first half performances at home, when we get into a rhythm it’s been good viewing but slow coming. He has to get us more on it and develop Meyers influence and the range of the squad and overall tactics.

The Arsenal result was yet another example of the manager working with limited materials but getting the job done I'll explain:
People on here winge that the 'team' doesn't score enough goals from set pieces, and the manager is to blame for lack of practice, how the hell they know that I cannot tell but anyway. Benteke comes in, fit again, and Dann plays because our ball-playing, creative centre-halves are injured. Low and behold we score three at Arsenal from set-pieces. Yes we hear, under Pulis we were lethal at corners, Roy must be doing something wrong. No, Delaney and Dann were lethal, not Pulis.

On the whole, Roy is getting the best from the material that he has, making up for our lack of creative midfielders, our relatively weak forwards, employing a variety of tactics to engineer the results we need. Yes our home results have been poor but we have had proportionately more bad luck at home and achieved some undeserved results away that skews the statistics somewhat.

The push-on I want next year is points against Brighton and Watford. If we can keep the team together and add maybe a creative midfielder and a left-back we could look forward to an even better season next year under Hodgson's management.

Because very simply after all of this time the manager has not figured out how to set us up to succeed at home.
