Still can't believe this signing is happening.Would you of even dreamt of signing a player like this 5 years ago? I thought it was great when we signed a player like Mcarthur but this is unreal. It actually feels a bit strange seeing in the papers that little old Palace will be paying a player 80-100k a week.I always hoped but never thought I'd see us pay these transfer fees and wages and I love it.Has there ever been owners that are not middle eastern or Russian billionaires that have turned a club around so massively in such a short amount of time?

That's a very good point

I could not agree more sums up my feelings exactly Parish and Co have worked wonders so far, personally I hope no big buyers come in to buy them out I don't think we could be in better hands and I'll stick by that with or without Kebabaye

doubt it will be 100k a week but if it is then thats a lot...but if his class pushes us towards 6/7th place and he becomes a talisman then its money well spent.

tbh im sure its 100k a week if he scores 5 goals a game & sucks off brighty in the shower after the game.

Let's be realistic, in the current climate Cabaye is a £100,000 a week player and we can't avoid paying that sort of wage unless we want to move to the next level. The alternative is we take a massive gamble on an unproven talent who steps up to the plate straight away, which is risky at best. Market forces dictate that if demand for proven, established top 10 internationals outstrips supply then bullets have to be bitten if we are to build on what the board and Pardew have done, and their vision for the club.
It's a massive statement of intent by the club. It indicates to other high profile targets (Austin, Remy et al) that we are serious about kicking on and challenging for Europe.
It also indicates to the likes of Dann and Bolasie (I for one think that Dann would be crazy to leave now)that this could be a chance to do something very special with this club. IF he goes to Everton he will just plod along, be solid and finish mid-table for the next few years- I doubt he will become an Everton legend- but he could well be if he stays here. I genuinely think we have more potential with the squad we have (even before we add one or two quality players) than any team outside the top 6- and I'm generally one of the more pessimistic Palace fans!
If we can add a 20+ striker and a long-term partner for Dann Europe really isn't out of our reach.
And if we can consolidate for the next couple of years we MUST increase capacity or move. The catchment area for the club has to be one of the highest in Europe, never mind England.

Their names are Glenn Murray and Martin Kelly. And I can't wait for the season to start with Yala, Wilf, Punch and Yohan threading balls in to Muzzza! Happy days!

Murray, and I'm one of his biggest fans, is not the answer any more if we want to progress we need Austin, Cabeye and another quality cb.
Kelly is not the answer at CB either.

Imo

He's a great player and he's so hot as well. Shame he is married.

I'm tough. I'm ambitious. I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, I'm OK with that.

Apparently he had an accident with a gas fire and he's singed instead.
