Worth a look at. But because claims the situation would be out of control without more restrictions or lockdowns there’s no stop to it. Must be said that the little compliance there was in November it was very brief. Attachment: D6675960-9138-4BBB-B601-D50274ECBE48.jpeg (75.12Kb)

I wonder how this bit of unsurprising news will be received in the Fens.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Just got off the phone to my friend who works on Track and Trace. Sounds like the private company that are running it are having a few issues, but its a massive undertaking. They currently have 8,000 staff. 4,000 were recruited in 7 days! As you'd imagine they have quite a mixed bag. Most people are on a two month contract, the holiday booking system has gone down, but you'd think most people on a 2 month contract wouldn't care too much about taking time off. Especially, if they were previously unemployed. The company are waiting to here from Public Health England to find out if they need staff to work on Christmas day. It's obvious to anyone who isn't a civil servant than no one will answer their phon e on Christmas Day to a witheald number. If someone is jusy about to sit down to a Christmas lunch with there family its not the time to tell them they have COVID and have to isolate. However, Civil Servants are saying that they have employed a consultancy to do research and found that people are more likely to respond to phone calls outside of working hours. As civil servants will never make a decision themselves for fear of accountability, its now looking like thousands of people will be paid overtime to sit on call on Christmas Day to do f*** all.

And priti got hammered for trying to explain that their job and financial remuneration was for them to be accountable and make decisions. For the many not the few as comrade corbyn said.

Should really be looking a comparison between Covid19 and highest death rates over the last 50 years, trying to link it with an extraordinary event. Nothing extraordinary to produce a mass spike has happened in the last 5 years (prior to COVID).

Nothing extraordinary to produce a mass spike has happened in the last 5 years (prior to COVID). I get what you’re saying, but the spring/summer curve happened everywhere apart from countries that either locked their citizens up and/or are not a central hub of travel and distribution but are a terminus (Australia/New Zealand). Sure the deaths would’ve been lower if we’d locked down earlier, not had Cheltenham and closed airports for a period of time, but half of the deaths were in care homes. The 2nd phase caused by earlier lockdowns isn’t looking much worse than the 5 year average, and these restrictions/tiers get some compliance for a week and then everyone notices loads of people are ignoring it and so do they. We know what we have to do. It becomes about avoiding people who don’t or don’t want to at all.

Ive just heard that London & most of the SE are going into Tier 4 a new level, any truth in this, anyone?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
