An interesting article from the Business Insider
"Everything is air-droppable at least once." "When the going gets tough, the tough call for close air support." |

The more and more I hear from the fifth columnists the more I like the sound of no deal. If the EU want to do hardball then let's do it. Faint hearts can move.

Ending brexit is the most patriotic thing the government could ever do. None of the brexiteers wishes will be fulfilled and its foolhardy to continue. Why, by having no deal, are the tories already panicking into planning to borrow huge sums of money? Isn't the whole point that there will be 350 millions a week saved and therefore available? You do the maths..... The only hope for us is that lenders will stop lending to us and that's regardless of brexit.

Issues highlighted in this article are undoubtedly true The desires of the likes of Boris, Fox, Mogg et al to turn the UK into a Singapore on Thames will do nothing for these people. People don't want power just moving from Brussels to Ministers' briefs in Westminster. They want real social change. Anyone who wants Brexit to be a success for British people and to counter the problems of 40 years of neoliberalism like me cringe at the mess that the Tories are making of this and the fact that they are totally misrepresenting the will of the people. People voted for Brexit to make Britain fairer and more equal and all this talk of "no deal" and galivanting around the world striking trade deals will do nothing to fix this problem. It's turned into a pet project for Tories to create a low tax, low regulation economy even more in favour of the wealthy and the elite. The only way to achieve the Brexit people voted for and respect the will of the people is to vote the Tories out at the next available opportunity. I have always struggled to know what Brexit people did vote for, it wasn't well articulated. Lots of people talking about immigration, as though Brexit will stop that. Also about reducing bureaucracy. Well maybe but then again maybe the replacement will be a lesser focus on social welfare. After all, the whole thing has been driven throughout by individuals with a lot to gain. Not a recipe for a fairer share of the spoils in the brave new world. If the pain is worthwhile it surely won't be in my working lifetime. I doubt people realised how prolonged the agony is going to be.

The UK has given in and accepted a minimum 2 year transition deal. Exactly what the 'brexiteers' didn't want. Will be announced tomorrow. Yets another u-trn and by the UK government. The EU holds all of the cards and next will be another payment after the initial €20 billion already agreed.
