The Sorloth thread

One thing you don't get in the PL is time, either to make decisions or to prove yourself. Sorloth struggled to make quick decisions and in 20 appearances he failed to show any significant improvement. With the time and space afforded by defenders in the Turkish league he is doing well, but in the PL most strikers these days are lucky if they get more than two or three chances per game and generally have to get their shot off immediately. The defensive organisation of many teams has made the league less entertaining to watch, but it also means as a striker you have to be able to convert chances almost as a reflex and you also need to do more for the team. I'm still not convinced he'll ever make a PL striker and I was one of only a small number of supporters who advocated giving him more time.

To be fair to Sorloth, most of his appearances were from the bench, sometimes being introduced into the fray in the final 10 minutes.

If it wasn't for Lewington shouting continuous instructions he probably wouldn't have even found his way onto the pitch. Like I say, maybe he will return to the PL and prove himself, but I don't believe we'll gauge whether he can from his playing in the Turkish league.

Time will tell but I have a nasty feeling he will come good if his talents are used in the right set-up. RH never gave him the time he has lavished on Benteke I hope he succeeds which will prove someone at Palace got it right.

Hearing Roy interviewed a while ago it sounded like he might come back after the loan. What’s reported in the media is that there’s no chance of that happening and we’re powerless to stop Trabzonspor buying him for 7 million and selling him on for a massive profit. Knowing all the bulls*** that’s spoken about transfers has anyone at the club confirmed that this actually is the situation?
