couple of recent articles on FLA: "Secret Facebook page reveals violence at heart of forum for ‘football fans’". The Observer revealing some of the opinions on the closed Facebook group [Link] "Are the Football Lads Alliance Another Far-Right Street Movement?" Vice's own take on what the FLA is all about [Link]

Out of interest, where do you think that Brendan O'Neill's article is biased? Because you can tell what the tone is going to be before you even click the link of any of the 3 articles posted, and as I could have done before I even knew there was a Daily Mail article on FLA. Unsurprisingly this makes it 2 a piece. This bias is self perpetuating as you could only fairly judge FLA were they to turn up to march unopposed with no preemptive accusations from anti-racist groups. Obviously they look like football hooligans but I've seen well dressed middle class women accused of racism at anti-extremism protests. Naturally this happened at Brexit demonstrations too. I'm afraid I'm in fulltime employment so I don't have time to check for multiple threads on a subject (the mods are pretty good at merging) let alone read them. I merely shared a couple of articles I saw on a subject I know has been discussed on here as I thought they were relevant to the topic

Edited by johnfirewall (26 Mar 2018 9.03pm) That's a bit naive. Any protest march/group is going to attract opposition and preemptive accusations because if we were all in agreement there would be no need to protest in the first. How you react in the face of that opposition should absolutely form part of the judgement and test whether you uphold your values.
