But then it's pretty foolish to start judging Corbyn based on conventional political standards, as has been shown time and time again in the past 4 months.

Here's a man who was given the biggest mandate in British political history to lead his party, having been almost universally written off as a no hoper. He's potentially going to lead the Labour party to 1 million members by 2020 in an age where the Tories are struggling to get in to 6 figures, and we have a self-professed communist as shadow chancellor. The past 10 weeks have thrown up more surprises in British politics, arguably, than had occurred in the previous 10 years. God knows what's going to happen in the next 4 1/2 years leading up to the election.

It's so sweet you actually believe that. Labour membership? Sure, why not. I can vote for an IRA-loving communist and stop Labour from getting into power for as long as this guy leads? Awesome! How much? £3?! I'll take 3!

83.3% of the £3 voters voted for.... Corbyn, the rest of the party went along for the ride to stick their collective fingers up at the Bl*ir and Burnham's of the party, likely egged on and socialmedialobotomised (as let's be frank, Tw@tter et al. are rammed full of this lot) by a combination of useful idiots (Owen Jones) and genuine false-flag operations. And it's worked perfectly.

Enjoy.

Post of the month - spot on.

Agreed...... Top class comeback dave!

More on the ComRes poll:

Tory lead is 12%. Interesting to see UKIP holding firm at 13%, despite all the vilification in the press.

The part I find fascinating is the approval ratings of politicians and whether the public actually know who they are.

To NG and his fellow La La landers. You should read the above link. You are talking to yourselves!

Has only been a week. A week full of unsubstantiated half truths, out of context quotes and downright lies in the press.
It wont take long before the lead narrows

It's normal for new party leaders to get a bounce in the polls after the first 7 days of their tenure.

Just sayin'.

So that's one vote he's got then. Would you have voted for any of the other Labour candidates at a general election?

Thing is, if 83.3% of the £3 voters voted for him (and presumably signed up to do so) that's still a fairly substantial selection of the public who actually went to the hassle of signing up and voting for him (in excess of the Labour party membership and parliamentary labour party as well).

People made the same mistake writing off UKIP and they did exceptionally well at the General election, and only really failed to really become a major party due to the f**ked up nature of constituency democracy.

I don't think they'll win the next general election, but then I don't think any of the candidates could have delivered that anyhow.

I am beginning to think that you are actually insane.

If I were you, I would temper your expectations somewhat.

Our current Prime Minister has previously had his p**** inside a dead pig (reportedly). If he can make it to the top of the tree, anybody can.

That report is pushed by a RUSSIAN company (RT) and I would think the guy topped himself because of other issues and not just only losing the money. It is rather sad but its a sign of the times I am afraid. In all areas of life certain people/things do slide out of the net with bad results. I would think it is for this sort of thing and reason that the government has changed the agency that does the medical checks to stop this sort of thing happening. I remember when back a few years and the Labour government was doing checks on the sick lame and the weary that people I know were sent back to work who should not have been so they got their doctors to insure they were rechecked and the results were different.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I fail to see what the source has to do with the story. It was the first I read the story on, but you'll find it via various other sources if you prefer UK ones.

That story and others like it have been flying about for months now. The reason I mentioned the Russian news network was just for that reason. I then went on to explain my thoughts on the matter. So wind your neck in please its not worth getting in a state for.

This is different though. This man killed himself "as a direct result of being declared 'fit to work'", according to a coroner.

It's not a few people slipping through the net due to innocent mistakes. It's been thousands in the last couple of years. One death would be bad enough.

Cameron is a decent man?! Was he decent when Israel was bombing the s*** out of Gaza's children, and he refused to condem it? Is he decent for slicing up the NHS? Is he decent for taking benefits away from the desperate people that need them? I see no compassion or human decency in him whatsoever.

Laugh at me all you like, but I can see Corbyn riding this ridiculous wave of filth in the press and becoming the next Prime Minister, despite what all the supposed experts say.

Edited by jcreedy (18 Sep 2015 8.09am)

Why would he condemn a retaliatory strike by Israel?... all the Palestinians had to do was stop firing rockets at Israel to avoid their children dying... they weren't specifically not targeting children in Israel were they?

You talk like the fight between the Palestinians and Israel was/is an equal, two-sided affair. Israel has the military capabilities of the West behind it and is chocking the people of Gaza into submission. It's prolonged ethnic cleansing.

Edited by jcreedy (18 Sep 2015 11.08am)

And children continue to die in Gaza at the moment due to the blockade Israel is placing Palestine under, preventing vital medical and humanitarian aid reaching those in need. Bombing is merely the most visible way in which the Israelis are persecuting their neighbours.

The blockade is there to prevent the Palestinians getting their hands on more rockets or worse.. more powerful weapons.

All they have to do is sign up to a peaceful settlement and the blockade will be lifted.

That doesn't explain away similar actions by the Israeli Government towards the Palestinian people in The West Bank though. Nor the hundreds of other state crimes committed before Hamas even existed. Collectively punishing a people for the deeds of a minority is always done by sh1theads.

Oh I get it.... the Palestinians are entirely blameless for this whole affair, like the Scousers at Hillsborough.

Sorry? In what way are the "scousers" guilty

You had to be there..........

We've done that topic to death.

I am not reopening Hillsborough I am sure it was done to death, I want you to tell me why the "scousers are guilty"

And we don't have "had to be there" because we know two things

1. The stadium didn't have a safety certificate and
2. The policeman in charge on the day said he wasn't up to the job and hadn't been briefed. It was him that opened the gates at the lepping lane end

So again why are you having a pop at the families of the bereaved who are entirely innocent.

I am guessing you are not following the inquiry

Err, you wrote that.

No hoof wrote that making a tenuous link to Palestinians being "Guilty", read the thred. I am calling him out on it. That could have been Palace in the Semi Final

No he didn't. You need to read the thread.

He insinuated that they aren't entirely blameless.

Optimistic as ever
