A conference can 'go well' when you stop debate of the most pressing issue taking place. Meetings of the Supreme Soviet used to go well - standing ovations nearly as long as those for Comrade Corbyn.

What debate was stopped?

EU of course - as you well know.

They did debate the EU. There wasn't a motion for the reasons discussed at the time in the relevant thread.

Blimey. It's hard debating with the uninformed.

As you well know, there was no meaningful debate on the EU and the Red Guards (Momentum) ensured that there would be no vote on Brexit.

What do you expect the motion for this vote to say?

That Brexit is all a Jewish bankers conspiracy?

Seriously. You moan they didn't debate Brexit when they did. I think you are being deliberately obtuse for a change.

"Jeremy Corbyn avoided an embarrassing row on Sunday over Labour’s position on the single market and free movement after party members voted to exclude Brexit from a series of debates at the party’s annual conference." (Guardian)

"Labour MP John Mann has criticised the lack of debate at the party's conference in Brighton - and said it is "reminiscent" of when Tony Blair was in charge.
The MP for Bassetlaw told ITV News that "controversial debates like Brexit" were being avoided because "Jeremy's clearly preparing for power".
Labour divisions over Europe erupted after conference delegates agreed not to push the issue of Brexit to a vote.
The decision meant Jeremy Corbyn avoided a divisive clash over Labour's Brexit policy on the conference floor. (ITV)
Pro-Remain MPs have been left furious after Labour conference delegates voted NOT to debate Brexit .
Jeremy Corbyn was spared the possibility of delegates voting for a thorny, and potentially embarrassing, policy change to stay in the single market permanently.
But the vote met with a furious reaction from pro-EU Labour MP Chris Leslie, who tweeted: "No Brexit vote at conference?! How utterly ridiculous. Many members will be shocked at manoeuvring to avoid biggest issue of our time".
Heidi Alexander, of the Labour campaign for the single market, added: "I am gobsmacked. How can Labour not have a full & proper debate on Brexit policy? We will be a laughing stock." (Daily Mirror)

How can Labour call itself a government-in-waiting when it refuses to debate Brexit? (Independant)

Labour's decision not to debate Brexit shows Momentum's power. The pro-Corbyn group ensured the divisive issues of single market membership and free movement were kept off the agenda. (New Statesman)

The simple thing with brexit is just simply to dis-continue.

I had an outraged tory poster berate me for the 'post-brexit disaster world' caused by me voting labour.

I replied that there could not be a post-brexit disaster world if there was no brexit.

Simples.

No reply of course.

I reckon no more than 15.
Do you know what the aims of are?
Are you (and others) raking up the anti semetism thing because the Labour conference went well and you can't think of any critiques of policy.

Lots of apologies online for the final solution gaffe if you look.

Hahahahaha. Yeah. From the Grauniad of all places....a stopped clock, and all that:

Oh, yes. Sure. We're "raking up the anti-semitism thing". I mean, this comes entirely from a vacuum. No, nothing to see here. Perhaps you need another whitewash to clear the party's name, hmm? Another peerage for a job well-done? Maybe Livingstone can write it up this time? About time Labour rewarded him with a peerage, right?

PS: The journo in the article is a woman - go do your thing, Labour thugs.

The prominent lawyer Jessica Simor QC, from Matrix chambers, has written to May asking her to release the legal advice under the Freedom of Information Act. Simor says she has been told by “two good sources” that the prime minister has been advised “that the article 50 notification can be withdrawn by the UK at any time before 29 March 2019 resulting in the UK remaining in the EU on its current favourable terms.

“Such advice would also accord with the view of Lord Kerr, who was involved in drafting article 50, of Jean-Claude Piris, former director general of the EU council’s legal service, and of Martin Selmayr, a lawyer and head of cabinet to the European commission president.” She says “there is no time to waste” and adds: “It is important that this advice is made available to the British public and their representatives in parliament as soon as possible.”

Is Brexit really cut and dried?
