We have a spike in Bromley and Lewisham but it appears to be a milder version according to my GP friend. 2 of my mates have been confirmed positive one has no symptoms the other a mild cough and a slight temperature which is good news as he is over 60 and diabetic. So let's hope it's getting weaker here.

That also seems to be the view of the health care professionals that I trust. So I think I would heed their advice rather than internet chatter, some of which is rumoured to start its "fairy whispering" journey in Russia. REDS UNDER THE BED! What is it with you and Russia? It keeps me amused though

I've stated this in the past on this thread. However, the panic that has been instilled into the public mindset doesn't comprehend it. Unfortunately.

I am not making it up and it makes perfect sense that they would be doing it. If I was trying to undermine the western democracies this would be something high on the agenda.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

I'm sure the thousands dead a week, and record numbers of covid-19 deaths in the likes of Italy and the US would all really have appreciated your thoughts on the weakening virus, and staunch belief that the pandemic ended months ago. As you are sure it will. Russians. Yep. That's it.

Edited by BlueJay (05 Dec 2020 10.40pm) You have never believed anything other than the mainstream opinion. Viruses behave in the same way as all organisms. For an organism to mutate to a more dangerous state only ensures a sooner demise. Which is a preposterous idea. As I have said before, the sole purpose of a virus is to reproduce. If it wipes out all the hosts, it wipes itself out. How dumb do you have to be to understand that?

I believe in the facts of the matter where and as they stand and am perfectly able to make my mind up about things as a situation progresses. Which is why with the vaccine edging towards approval, I was against the second lockdown when it came down to the economy to health balance. It's also why I believe that younger people having the vaccine is an irrelevance all things considered. Carry on all you like, but the pandemic is clearly not 'over' or whatever you've been taken in by on Twitter. I'm pointing out the record numbers of deaths to highlight this, and also the higher than is comfortable numbers here. Take the comments for what they are. The problem with you is that you've it politicised it to the point where if someone says anything you don't agree with, you automatically assume they want an eternal lockdown and for people to wear 86 masks for the rest of their lives. You inevitably latch on 'how dumb', or 'I thought you were more intelligent' as some pointlessly barbed comments to almost everyone you communicate with. Get your emotions in check, at the end of the day we're all in the same situation, Timo.

You don't address anything in my post. You do though end it with a childish jibe. Consistent as usual.

Well done for clutching your pearls at what you imagine are others insults, while avoiding the fact that you pepper about a third of your own posts with them. I know full well the nature of viruses. You're the one who completely changed the subject in order to move away from answering the point I made, which is to anyone with any sense there is a clear awareness that the pandemic is not 'over'. To raise another point you enjoy bringing up about how there is no 'second wave', please realise that for some talk of a 'second wave' is referring to the current uptick. There is indeed a substantial uptick which is of course due to the lockdown measures. While cold viruses behave as you'd imagine, the societal measures put in place clearly are causing 'waves' of infection. I hope this helps. Goodnight Tim.
