Fair dos. You were.

But it still would have happened anyway a few years later as that could not be avoided going back to what was signed up to by them pesky Tories.

Were the Tories in power in 2004?

The Citizens Rights Directive 2004/38/EC governs freedom of movement in the EU.

That was just an amendment to existing legislation. Freedom of movement was already here.

No it wasn't. Read up on it.

Something you should perhaps do. It clearly states it is an amendment.

Found within this article is a Bank of England report from 2015 that found that mass immigration has lowered wages. It's simple supply and demand. More competition for jobs, wages go down.

I'm not partisan in the slightest, but it's funny how the Labour stance on Brexit effectively goes against the interests of the 'working class'. How times change.

It's a directive. Here's an explanation:

[Link]

It clearly states it is a directive replacing 'piecemeal' legislation dating back to the 1970's but it is a new EU directive, not an 'amendment'. If it was an 'amendment' it would state that it is an 'amendment to a directive'.

Quite see your technical points about the ECB but for Joe Bloggs he knows its going to happen but not where or when.

I (happily) disagree.
Joe Bloggs (ie the majority) doesn't have a clue.

The EU Repeal Bill wins first commons vote:

For the record, no Tories defied their leadership but quite a few Labour MP's defied Jezza.
