There appears to be a consensus that the next 3 matches for us are not going to be fruitful in terms of points gained. The next 3 matches for the teams below us : Bournemouth (21 pts) H - Liverpool, A - A.Villa, H - Fulham I re-iterate that I do not envisage W.Ham, Wolves or Leicester being relegated. It's certainly time to panic. Eight points from the last thirty six available. Until the Nottingham Forest game, just before the World Cup, going well. The January transfer window was presumably conducted in the belief that relgation was not an issue. It certainly is a possibility now. I can't understand why the manager will not try Edouard and Mateta together up front. They can't do worse than not get a shot on target in ninety minutes. If they manage that, it might go in. For the remaining home games, assuming all players are available, I'd like to see: Guaita (the back up, or lack of it, for him is unbelievably thin. Why not recall Butland from Man Utd on loan?) I don't want Ayew anywhere near the starting eleven. That should go for Schlupp too. This finishing 11 sounds good, but would start with Hughes for Eze (more muscle in midfield)

Clause In contracts for both remi matthews and Jack butland that we can’t recall , anyway joe Whitworth on bench will be our number 1 in a few years mark my words

Talking of clauses in contracts & considering this is a relegation thread I do wonder how many of our squad have relegation clauses providing the ability to tailor their earnings accordingly if we go down - Presumably Wilf would be gone by then, Guehi, Anderson, Olise'& maybe even Mitchell would probably attract transfer fees that in the aftermath of the relegation effect on the bank balance at least some of them we would probably feel obliged to accept. I don't see us as being financially well equipped enough to be able to batten down the hatches, keep all the best players, sign a few more & make an immediate push for automatic promotion - Just a few thoughts on a cold damp Monday morning. I know it’s worrying but I do trust Steve parish to have made sure that at any point we got relegated we would be financially stable , don’t forget we have a lot of players out on loan doing very well who could head straight into our first team shoukd the worse happen killian Phillips , rak sakyi for example

This is where more than a few of them might wake up and realise that their cushy number at Palace is under threat, and actually start putting some effort in. Or perhaps they are to dim to realise that should we be relegated they won't be going to top clubs, that the chance they had to impress with us won't happen again as other clubs will see them for what they are.

Seem to be two leagues emerging: 1. Clubs with money and a couple very well run
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
