Hodgson let slip in a press conference that he and Parish had been trying to persuade the Americans to spend. We've gotten ourselves into an utter mess with the American owners. They aren't interested in investing in the playing squad. and how do you know, sorry but you think the 2 yanks have as much as who, they have shares they have how many billions, they have in my eye no better than bottom half of the prem we are no were near the top

Its not likely to be the yanks personal money that is spent on players so why do they need to be convinced?

Parish does not have a controlling interest - the two American's do. From what I have understood, they pushed certainly for the signing of Benteke and possibly Sakko and Parish is understandably not keen to repeat those very costly signings/mistakes. Equally, given the issues over the ownership, it is not at all surprising funds are limited until that is clarified. Actually, Palace were very savvy in the market last summer around Cahill, Ayew and McCarthy and I suspect it will be a similar approach this January. Not at all surprising in my view.

That was not from club funds and we’ve been behind on the money front ever since. If it isn’t the Americans’ money, which it must’ve been because they’ve been paid back recently, then it’s bank loans, which have been paid back recently, which leads me into question why we’re borrowing money from a bank when 2 wealthy owners can loan it for nothing. The fact is these Americans are not driving the club forward with the stadium or the squad, which was the point in the beginning. We knew they’d be doing it to eventually sell for a profit, but they’re not willing to do it. I read they’re not sold on investing in Prem football on a pure business level. Well that shows. You either do it in a big west or not. The scope is definitely there. It’s being the next buyer I’d be concerned about, although 2 other stands are a joke and the holmesdale has structural issues.

People are missing the point. They keep saying 9th place yeah that is excellent. But the bigger problem is this gives the owners more reason to think we don't need to invest if we are in the top half of the table. This is dangerous. What happens next year? "don't worry we were fine with no real signings we should be okay this year." A mentality like that could lead to relegation which is something no one wants. Also why are we 9th? Most of the time it is Guaita who has saved us. Will probably win POTY. If it weren't for his saves we would be closer to the bottom than the top half that's for sure. And why are people complaining to those who are not happy? Many or most are customers they are ST holders/members. They spend a fortune to get to games. They have a right to vent if they feel they aren't getting value for the money which is in fact the case as mentioned by points such as: stadium issues, ticket prices rising year on year but quality of football/players staying the same. The fans aren't expecting us to buy Timo Werner. We would be happy even if all our buys were says loans but filled the positions that need cover and could improve our squad. Even if that is not possible young players like Kirby and others getting game time. Not playing week in week out. But getting minutes off the bench. Before someone says how we are not a rich club. Well we pay Zaha, Meyer, Sakho, Benteke,Cahill £80k plus. Benteke and Meyer are reportedly on £120k a week. Not bad for a club who tries to escape relegation year on year. By some of our wages you would think we are a UCL/Europa team
